I'm going to court for fighting a girl at school...what's gonna happen?

The $310.00 they're telling you that you have to pay may be court costs, then again it may be the maximum fine for the alleged offense. Your best bet is to go to court in your Sunday best, plead guilty, tell the judge you've learned your lesson but you take full responsibility for your actions and ask for leniency based on first offense (assuming you've never gotten in a fight at school before). If you show the judge that you're taking this seriously and that you're being an adult by owning up and accepting the consequences, chances are the judge will give you a break. The laws of every state are different, but you could get probation and community service as opposed to being sent to juvenile detention, and if there is a fine that's entirely at the discretion of the judge. That's why it's vitally important to make the right impression on the judge, and you only get one shot. If you show the judge the slightest amount of attitude you're toast, and don't try to sweet-talk the judge or place blame on anyone but yourself. They can see through those schemes. Behave like a mature, responsible adult and there's a very good chance the judge will cut you some slack.

What happens if you plead the Fifth Ammendmant in court?

No you do not go to jail for pleading the 5th. It is your right to plea the 5th.

What happens at court for rear-end collision?

This is my first time accident, and a little panicky about the whole thing. I was driving home tonight (dark and rainy) and was coming up to an intersection notoriously known for having a very short yellow light. Granted I take full responsibility and fault for the accident, failed to stop in time as the car in the front of me decided to stop come to an abrupt stop at the yellow light and I ended up rear-ending him. There was very little damage on his car, and my two front headlights popped out and the bumper cracked, but both of us were safe and okay. We traded insurance info, he seemed pretty calm about the whole thing and after the police report was filed left. The cop then confronted me and issued me with failing to reduce speed. I'm scheduled for court in a few weeks. And he told me if the other driver does not show up, I'm exempted from the fine (of $150). My insurance is also covering all of the damage. Since this is my first time being in an accident (and I'm only 22) I'm a little confused about what happens at court?

What happens if a cop pulls you over and you forgot to bring your drivers license?

depends on your state laws and the cops mood.

one if you have a valid lic they may just ask for your name and then check and let you go.

if they are unable to verify your id, you might go to jail
