What Would Happen If I Have Ingested A Fig Worm

What happens if one accidentally eats a worm while eating a fruit/vegetable?

Assuming that you detect an off taste while munching away, you will remove the food item from your mouth and examine it to see what kind of foreign matter might be present. You will likely see whatever portion of the worm still remains within the apple, peach, or whatever, and from this conclude that the remainder has entered your digestive system. If you are a typical American, you will either (1) become instantly nauseated and barf up the swallowed portion of the worm or (2) retain the worm and worry a lot about whether you will get sick or die from consuming a non-standard food item that is far outside the boundaries of your normal diet. You might even race to your doctor or to an emergency room to seek counsel and/or treatment, where you will likely be told not to worry because there is practically zero likelihood that you will suffer any ill effects from consuming a little extra protein, irrespective of the non-standard form in which it made its way into your tender, pampered American body. A great many of the humans on this planet regularly consume insects, worms, and other invertebrates that are not considered as appropriate food by queasy citizens of western developed nations.

Should I avoid eating dates because they are often filled with maggots?

Unlikely to be “maggots” - but whatever - chew well and even if the maggot misses your teeth the 1 molar HCl, 2pH acid of your stomach will turn it into usable protein for you. I used to hate the codlin moth larvae in apples - always only HALF a larvae (damn! and I’ve swallowed), but it has never done me the least harm.We eat all sorts of microbes and squirmy things without realising it. Few do us any ham due to that acid. And before I get a zillion downvotes, yes, some do - do us harm - but on balance, very, very few.

What happens if you eat a maggot?

If you chew them? They’re dead instantly. Swallow them live? They die in your stomach acid. Either way, they’re dead. You digest them. You should be fine.Maggots don’t usually carry diseases. They’re pretty clean little guys, depending on where they’ve been. I wouldn’t recommend eating wild maggots (especially in large quantities), but medical grade maggots might be ok (but probably don’t taste that great)

What are these tiny worms that have white fluffy stuff growing off them, they are on my walnut tree leaves?

Sounds like you have tent caterpillars. Below is a site that will tell you how to get rid of them

My Dad always put an old rag very tight on a stick, actually made a ball. Soaked it in Kerosene set it on fire and burned them. I would not recommend this as you can easily start a fire.

What if we accidentally ate a worm which was in a tamarind

most likely, you would most likely digest the worm much as you would the tamarind. other than that, nothing. there are a few worms parasitic to humans via ingestion, but they are typically found in other animals and not fruit. I guess there is always the miniscule chance that the worm could be contaminated with a harmful bacteria or parasite, but if so then its probably contaminated the fruit also, there is a risk in that case even if you didn't eat the worm but consumed the fruit. I would venture to say that we have all ingested some worm, insects and parts thereof with little or no effect.

Dried Figs are very hard. How can u make them soft to make them easy to eat and not hurt your teeth?

Bring a pot of water to a boil and then drop the figs in. Add about a teaspoon of sugar and a pinch of salt. Turn the heat off and let them steep for about 15 minutes and they'll be soft, juicy and full of flavor!!

As far as recipes with dried figs, take a look at some of the online recipe sites, there's ooodles of them out there!

Can a worm inside a fruit continue living inside a person?

My neighbor gives me delicious cherries from her tree, but I just saw a tiny hole on one of them, opened it with my fingers, and saw a little worm. Now I'm kind of paranoid-- what if I accidentally eat a worm? Besides that being really gross, could it reproduce inside of me and cause me to become infected with many worms? Or would it just die?

I want to keep enjoying these cherries... but I don't want worms.
