What Would Happen If Lizards Didn

If a lizard gets wet what happens to it???

This is going to sound like a dumb answer, but if a lizard gets wet...it will just be a wet lizard.

Nothing happens, other than it getting wet of course.

Some tropical lizards need to stay in a wet, humid environment to stay happy.

Desert lizards get wet sometimes too, they just don't need as much moisture as others.

Some lizards will turn colors, but that's because of the cold, not the wet.

All lizards need some form of moisture to survive.

Did something happen to your lizard when it got wet that prompted you to ask this? If so, what kind of lizard and what happened?

What happens if you wash your clothes with a lizard inside the washing machine?

a few weeks ago I had seen a lizard in the washing machine. I told my dad and he told me he couldn't find it. So today when I washed my clothes (specifically underwear), I was taking it out and saw something and it was the dead lizard. Did anything get on my clothes? Should I wash it again? Now that I took out the lizard?

What happens if someone puts lotion on a lizard?

Well that "someone" is a moron for doing that. But as to it being harmful to the lizard it all depends on what kind of lotion it is and how much did this "someone" put on him.But unless he ingest the lotion i highly doubt anything life threatening will happen to the lizard.Put still this '"someone" should never but a large amount of lotion on his/her reptile. If this person was trying to aid with the sheddin of his animal tell this "someone" instead of lotion they will be better off using olive oil but only a little applied around the legs and back.

What will happen if you touch a lizard's tail?

Nothing…except for simply now knowing what a lizard’s tail feels like…What you’re likely referring to is caudal autonomy where some, but not all lizards have the ability to sever their tails. The tail either contains a fracture plane along the midsection in between a subset of two vertebrae or the fracture plane actually subsists across the vertebrae themselves in the midsection of the tail. For most caudal autonomy lizards, the fracture plane is only induced from pressure, such as a predator grabbing the tail. There are a few species of geckos, however that when they are put under extreme stress can break off the tail on their own accord. The reason being is that caudal autonomy is an evolved trait as a defense mechanism from being eaten by predators. When a predator usually grabs the lizard by its usually long tail, the tail then fractures, breaks off and with its nerve system severed begins to wiggle. This gains the attention of the predator allowing the lizard to escape. However for a few species of geckos, the main predator are ants. Ants do not give enough pressure for the fracture plane to break so these geckos evolved stress (due to the ants swarming attack) to break the plane. In either circumstance, the lizard doesn't bleed out as the sphincter muscle contracts squeezing the caudal artery shut. There are disadvantages to this as the new regenerated tail is shorter and no longer has bone vertebrae, but weaker cartilage in the vertebrae’s place. Plus, the tail is normally a fat storage for lizards. If the predator does not eat the tail, the lizard will come back and devour the tail itself to reclaim the metabolic fat reserves.

What will happen if humans kill all the house lizards in the whole world?

I hope you like insects infesting your house and other living areas then. Don’t kill lizards for any reason, there’s no reason to use them as live bait. Take care of them. They eat insects and it’s not harmful but what is, is using chemicals because it makes them fall ill and makes them have to resort to eating each other. Stop hating on any lizard. No hate for the iguanas either even though they eat plants

What will happen if a little lizard crawls into your nose?

No little lizard can crawl in your nose and cause brain damage. I think your father was joking with you.

Your ideas are correct. If some foreign body (dead or alive) ever did get in your nose, you would probably sneeze it out.

Even if you swallowed it, there would be no harm done.

Don't kill little lizards (or any other wild aninals except vermin.) They are living creatures that have the same right to live as you have.

In addition, they are part of the world's ecology and the web of life, so each creature helps to keep the earth's environment in good condition.
