What would my GPA be on a 4.0 scale?
If the 5.0 is not a weighted scale but one your entire school works off of, then you have a 4.4/5.0 * 4.0 = 3.52 GPA. However, if the 5.0 scale is from taking advanced classes which have been weighted, you can't do a direct conversion to the 4.0 scale because it depends on how many classes were weighted and by how much. You'll have to go back, unweight all of them, and recalculate your GPA.

Let’s think about what you’re saying here… If you have a 4.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and you receive a C (2.0), which is obviously lower than 4.0, wouldn’t your average obviously go down…?
