Would You name your kid your name backwards?
This is an amazingly interesting question! Well, my name is Amy Elizabeth.... and I really don't think I would use Yma or Htebazile as a name... I can't resist...do you mind if I throw in some names in my family? My sister is Rachel Gail.... So she has the potential yo use Lehcar or Liag. Liag is definitely the better of the two, but I still wouldn't use it. My brother is Nathan Thomas. He would have Nahtan Samoht. It kind of just looks like a made something up and threw a few H's in there... My mom is Deborah Gail. She would be Harobed Liag. Harobed is pretty interesting...haha My dad is Thomas Stuart. He would be Samoht Trauts. Haha, Trauts looks a whole lot like "trots" to me. My puppy is Mollie Noelle. Eillom Elleon isn't so horrible...if pronounced eye-lum ell-ee-on... haha. My previous dog was Oliver Noah. He would be Revilo Haon. Again, not so horrible but not usable in my opinion...Revilo sounds like it could be an epic brand name. My cousin is Melissa Christine. She would be Assilem Enitsirhc. Assilem looks a bit too much like asylum to me... My other cousin is David Reid. Divad Dier. Haha, wow, that's amazing. Divad makes me think of Divas... like "he just got diva'd". haha. Another of my cousins is Benjamin Daniel. Nimajneb Leinad. eh... Another of my cousins is Devin Lee. Nived Eel...that kind of sounds like an evil sort of eel to me. I also have a cousin named SaVanah Michele. HanaVas Elehcim....not so great. Then there's another cousin named Brad Wesley. Darb Yelsew. Well, Darb could be a potential nickname for Darby, but I don't really like that name...heh Brad's brother (another cousin) is Andrew Brett. That would make for Werdna Tterb...wow, that's brilliant to say out loud. I have a friend named Kaylee Rae. Eelyak Ear? Wow, I don't think so! Eels and yaks have enough ears as it is! Do Germans still name their kids Hitler?
Germany is the country where most restrictions apply to names. We have a large catalogue with possible names.This catalogue contains that kids may not be named “Adolf Hitler”, “Heinrich Himmler", “Goebbels" etc. under any circumstance.Obviously incorrect or deviating version of a name are not allowed, i.e. “Liieesa", “Tommm", “Fieliep" are bastardised versionsversion of “Lisa, Tom and Filip/Fillip/Fillipp/Philip/Phillip/Phillipp”. They are not according to are spelling rules and are not allowed. Nobody would choose them though.The concept of unisex names is non-existent in Germany. Someone may not be named a name that is clearly not according to the biological gender.That said, an “application" with reasoning can be made for each name suggestion. If there is no vehement reason against that name, it usually gets accepted.

How did you decide your child’s name?
I have 4 children and all of them were named in some part after something quirky.Ethan Raphael Ethan got his first name partially because I had never met or seen an unattractive Ethan in my life and thought that would be a good sign for him later in life. His middle name however was more meaningful as it was a combined with a couple of things. Originally my son was going to have a different name but he simply didn't fit it when I saw him. While I was at the hospital I was reading a book: "Unlocking the Seven Genuises of Leonardo DaVinci." In it it talked about DaVinci's interactions with this other punk artist of the Renassaince era: Raphael.But that's not entirely how it happened. When he was getting his first bath he scrunched up his face like a turtle. Immediately I thought of the Ninja Turtle and he became my own little turtle namesake since then. (Surprisingly he has not gotten sick of the Ninja Turtle toys and things he gets from time to time... yet)Maddox Connor- Maddox got his name for geeky reasons... I grew up reading the blog made by a guy with the acronym Maddox. It was terribly irreverent and hilarious and not something that I had heard any kid named yet.The Best Page In The Universe.Connor came because I was pregnant during the Lacy Peterson trial and that was the baby's name. Yes I admit that one is a weird one even for me but hey I just admitted to naming a kid after a Ninja Turtle and a web troll so...Sakura Faye-Sakura after the flowers which bloom at the time she was born and because I remembered seeing the name on my Gelly Roll pens (the most coveted pens ever when I was growing up) and always loved it.Faye is a reference to the Cowboy Bebop character Faye Valentine.and lastly my latest son...Jonas Caspian-His middle name (previously debated to be his first name) was originally supposed to be Hunter after Hunter S Thompson but, as much as I love his written work, I didn't want to name my kid after a drunk. Instead his middle name ended up becoming about as a reference to The Chronicles of Narnia's Prince Caspian character.So his first name? It's a Weezer reference of course. I joked about having it be in his birthing announcement but it never ended up happening. Nonetheless I thought him having a song he could use in intros would be kind of cool... that and Rivers Cumomo is also extremely attractive. (Note: his middle name almost was Rivers as well but I didn't want to overdo it with the Weezer references)
