Whats Better Than Iphoto

Is Google Photos better than Apple Photos (2016–2017)?

Yes, I’m on iOS and I went through the extra work it takes to set up Google Photos and even to periodically leave my phone on Wifi to let all photos sync (I think Apple is friendlier to iPhoto for background sync). Here’s whyGoogle’s Machine Learning is better and given company investments I expect it to be ahead of Apple for the foreseeable future. That means I expect better search, auto-video creation and other intelligent features from Google.Google has a really nice fast scroll interface to quickly and precisely go back over years. This interface is actually part of Material and is also in Google Docs, sheets, etc. With Apple Photos on the iPhone if you find yourself scrolling like a madman to find something 3 years old, this doesn’t happen with Google Photos. It’s very rare I have to attribute a pure interaction design advantage to Google over Apple, but this is such a case. All my friends have a Gmail address, not all have Apple devices. This makes sharing photos over Google photos usually better.

How do you change eye color on iPhoto?

Depends which version of iPhoto you have 06 or 08?

06 does have some editing features> select image> click on the edit icon at the bottom of the window (although it won't allow you to select areas like the lasso tool in photoshop)

other than that, get Photoshop which is designed for image manipulation.

Why do I have an iPhoto library and Photos library?

The new Photos app, which was released in OS X 10.10.3, has basically replaced iPhoto, although the latter will still run and work perfectly fine if you already had it installed on your computer. When you first opened Photos, it should have automatically offered to import your iPhoto library into the new Photos app. In fact, it does this almost automatically, so it's kind of easy to miss if you're just hitting 'Next' through the initial setup dialogs. Chances are if both libraries are the same size, this is probably what happened, and your Photos library contains everything that was in your iPhoto library when you first installed it.Keep in mind, however, that this process is a one-time migration. This means that if you continued using iPhoto after you'd moved all of your content into Photos, you may have some data in the old iPhoto library such as newly imported photos or edits that are different from what is contained in Photos. Once the initial migration occurs, the two libraries are completely separate from each other. The original iPhoto Library is really only preserved because some users may want to retain it as a backup, and there are some niche features in iPhoto that haven't necessarily made it into Photos, so some users may want to go back to the older app.As Quin Reiben suggests, the best thing to do is to open both apps and compare what's contained in each one. If you know you haven't used iPhoto since Photos came along, the recent photos in each look the same, and the overall number of photos in each add up to the same number, then it's a safe bet that your old iPhoto library can be deleted.Another option is to backup your iPhoto library to an external hard drive or USB drive, so that you at least have it as a backup just in case you discover that you need something out of it. If you're only using the new Photos app, you don't need to keep the iPhoto Library on your primary hard drive, but if you don't want to risk deleting it, moving it somewhere else is a much safer option.

What is the best photo book website? iPhoto or shutterfly?

Unless it has changed since I last ordered one, a book made in iPhoto is printed by Shutterfly, so the end product is the same. I have used both iPhoto and the Shutterfly site to create books and I cannot say that one is any better than the other. I think iPhoto is probably a little easier.

I also agree that there are better quality alternatives available. I suggest you give Adorama a try next time.

Open iPhoto, select the video and copy and paste it into a folder in Finder (cmd + C=copy / cmd + V=paste).

OR...select the file and then go to 'File' and click 'export', check the information needed, click ok and then choose where to export it to.
