Whats Safe And Dangerous Places In Michigan

Is the Harpos Theatre in Detroit Michigan a safe place to go?

as with any other big city - use your brain and common sense when visiting any place late at night and you'll be fine
stay with your group/ crowd, park in a well lit public area along with other cars, lock your doors, don't leave valuables in plain site in your car ..etc

What is the most dangerous place in Michigan?

this is going to sound like you asked Captain Obvious but there are a number of very high crime neighborhoods in a number of the cities of Michigan. Detroit and Flint have a few but there are also high crime sectors in Muskegon and Marquette. Otherwise, Michigan is really a pretty safe place.

How safe is Ann Arbor, Michigan?

Ann Arbor is fairly safe, depending on where you are and when you are there. The biggest risks are in the areas around campus late at night - those risks are muggings, and I’m talking about maybe at 2 a.m. There are some occasional break ins into cars in different areas. I wouldn’t go running through wooded areas at night with headphones on, but I wouldn’t do that anywhere, and I lived through NYC in the 1980’s, so there’s that. The biggest issue I would say would be date rapes on campus. If you go to school here and go to parties, keep a close eye on your drink, do NOT leave it unattended, do not accept a drink from anyone, and take your drink with you to the bathroom, all the way into the stall. If you leave it alone accidentally, dump it and get another. I’m speaking, of course, about date rape drugs getting dumped into drinks. Go to parties with a buddy, and for heaven’s sake, don’t over do it! The pre-party parties leave many women very vulnerable at the “real” parties, women with very little life experience. There are petty thefts on campus to watch out for; don’t leave your laptop lying around, or your purse, in the library - that sort of thing. It’s more like a small city than a college campus. I think that’s unnerving to some students - this isn’t Kalamazoo College. It’s a freaking HUGE university. And that’s a bit alienating. The city itself is a nice combination of city plus campus - there are three downtown areas: right by the u, Kerrytown, and Main Street. When the bars let out there are more fights and petty thefts, etc. That’s the time when you’d want to be a little more careful -around 2 am.Hope that clarifies things. Amy

Is Adrian, Michigan a safe place for a senior to live?

I live in Michigan and have never really heard of anything much happening in Adrian besides bad weather. You might want to see if they have a community website or contact their local police department to see what the crime rates are.

Is Pontiac, Michigan, just outside of Detroit, dangerous?

I work in Downtown Pontiac, right by the bars. You will be fine. It has some trouble, obviously. But anyplace that a bunch of drunk people is going to have that. I have worked there for 3 1/2 years and never had a problem. If you plan on staying the night, check out Auburn Hills for a hotel (the closest and nice area). Downtown has on the street parking, and parking lots, and two parking ramps. I am assuming that the concert is either at Clutch or Crofoot. Clutch is pretty big and was built in an old church. Crofoot is newer and has become a music hotspot.

Are the mortuary or morgue dangerous places?

If all the health and mandatory hygiene measures are taken correctly, these places are not at all dangerous.Secondly, people who believes in supernatural powers, they need to understand what are the timings they need to avoid to cross these places.

Is Pontiac, Michigan a safe city?

I work in downtown Pontiac and if you are going to Clutch or Crofoot for a concert, you will be fine. Just don't wander off the main street or walk around after the bars close. The roads can be confusing, so be sure you know exactly how to get out of downtown before you go.

What are the most dangerous parts of Detroit?

From a retired Detroit Police Lieutenant:

Greektown is about the safest. After any of the events and the River Front, near Homeland Security and Coast Guard stations. Indian Village for the most part is still well to do and safe.

The mini station areas, about a block square outside of any precinct, the 'motel' areas. The high school campuses and immediate areas reek of danger (go figure ~ schools should be a sanctuary).

The Manoogian Mansion used to be so deluged with security the only danger was being in it!

Brush, outside the DMC area (not IN it), along the western borders. The East and Northern borders ar trying to become unsafe, especially along the' easy-on ~ easy-off' expressway suburbs.

The People Mover is no where near as bad as, say the New York subways, or Philly's downtown public transportation areas. So good to go.

Keep your car doors locked, do not talk to or look anyone in the eye, get gas and shop in the suburbs...otherwise welcome and enjoy your stay
