Help with Skyrim mods?

I'm guessing you want to put already made mods into Skyrim and not make them yourself? Well I can help with both, here are your answers:

1a) You can do it with the mods on the Steam Workshop which can work but could be problematic, it's best to do it yourself on the Skyrim Nexus - www.nexds.com/skyrim/?
b) First of I highly recommend NMM (Nexus Mod Manager), SSE (Skyrim Script Extender), BOSS, and Wyre Bash. I would provide links but they won't work. A. lot of mods require what I just listed so they're a must get.
c) Download your selected mods and install them with NMM or by un-rar/ziping them or by moving the content to skyrim/data folder.
d) Use BOSS and Wyre Bash to organise and sort out the mods and getting them to run properly.
e) If Skyrim does not work/load use NMM to unload/load the mods individually to find out which one is causing the issue.
f) You shouldnt need help with the programs I listed they are user friendly and come with help files, a good community backing, and tool-tips. Plus a lot of the harder stuff will be automated.

2) I've never had any issues from mods originating from the Nexus, or the Workshop so you shouldn't have any either. However I cannot guarantee this if you use any mods not coming from them.

3) Already listed:
Nexus - www.nexds.com/skyrim/?
Workshop - On Steam.

What's a cool Skyrim mod that most people haven't heard of or tried?

Quick Light. Folks go on about the pros and cons of Immersive Torches or Wearable Lanterns and the like. Quick Light is superior to every “portable lightsource” mod I've used, it's virtualy weightless, conflicts with nothing, and just plain works. Practically a flashlight for Skyrim. It even doubles as a fair facelight. But for some reason, no one uses it.Another one nobody looks at is Unread Books Glow. The title says it all; just glance at a pile of literature to see if you've read any of them or not. No mouseovers or HUD additions. Couldn't be simpler. Particularly if you're an obsessive bibliophile like myself. This is my third edit of this answer. So many unsung mods. Dime's Quickstart this time. Unlike Live Another Life (which appears to conflict with just about everything), or other skip-Helgen mods, Dime's works perfectly. Drops you in the cave below Helgen, about 10 yards from the exit, with just enough gear to get you to Whiterun. No muss, no fuss, no conflicts. I really like simple mods that work.
