What to say when a texting conversation starts to die...?
Whenever I am texting my friends, the conversation starts to die and we will just text each other things like "yep" and "lol" and things of that nature. What do I say to break the awkwardness and start a new conversation. Nothing ever comes to mind except food. And then one of my friends text me "Are we gonna talk about food all day?" SOOO to save me from these socially awkward moments, what do I say to break the ice? :/

But theres a simplpe fix that you yourself already came up with an answer for: find a common subject that you both like and are interested in and talk about it. For example, in brooklyn. new york the things we talk about is gossip like who is crushing on who, who got into a fight recently, jay-zs new baby, sports, fashion and predominately sex etc. If you like band and scremo/rap and you know about that or like/interested in it ask questions about it to him for him to answer or even talk about why/what you like about it and what bands/scremo you listen to! Pick a random subject and talk about it just keep asking questions. It will generate conversation and could also lead to a completely different conversations that will interest both of you more. For example start with: "So what's your favorite scremo/rap band/music/song/artist?" He answers then say, "Oh I like (blank)" or say "Me too their the best but I also like Boys II Men singing group." (Old school group lol) AND BAM NEW CONVERSATION!! Even be pushy: Ask: "So how's (his girlfriend's name here)? How's your relationship?" and begin using that as a flirting tool and say "I'm sorry she's not being good to you, but I think I can be better." NEW CONVERSATION AGAIN!!
