Wheat White Meat Water . Does It Work

Question on water potential.?

Imagine that you are an agri-science consultant to a large corporate farm that raises 7,000 acres of wheat on desert land adjoining the Mediterranean Sea. Just before the wheat matures, all the wells used for irrigation water run dry. The farm manager wants to irrigate the fields with water drawn from the Mediterranean. From previous tests, you know that the average solute potential of root tissue taken from the wheat fields is - 11.13 bars. You test the seawater and determine its solute potential to be -24.26 bars. What will you advise the farm manager and why?

How come Europeans eat white bread and pasta and butter all the time and aren't as fat as we are?

Portion control. You go to a restaurant and see the size of the portions are much smaller than in the US. I have ordered pasta in the US and the portion can be enough for 2-3 people

Fewer preservatives, additives and hormones in food. I look at the packaged white bread I buy in Sweden and the ingredients are wheat flour, water, yeast and salt -- same ingredients as the bread I buy at a bakery. That's it. Here are the ingredients of American Wonder Bread http://www.foodfacts.com/ci/nutritionfac... or Orowheat Whole Wheat Bread http://www.oroweat.com/products/sliced-b...
What are all of those ingredients and why are they in there??? It's all the additives that cause people to gain weight. Same with butter, in Europe the dairy cows are not given growth hormones like in the US to get them to produce more milk. Hormones lead to weight gain, just like women gain weight when they go on birth control pills. Same with drinking milk or eating butter from cows given hormones

More physical activity - we walk or cycle more, we don't drive everywhere. I walk 30 minutes to work every day unless it's really bad weather, then I take a bus. I would never dream of driving my own car when it's that close. Just commuting to and from work I get at least an hour of walking in a day. I don't go to the gym. I walk and on weekends often go on long walks or hikes.

So eat organic and natural products with as few ingredients as possible, read labels and don't buy anything with ingredients you can't identify or pronounce, control portion size and walk or cycle instead of driving everywhere

Are meat alternatives unhealthier than meat?

You mean like Quorn which comes from a FUNGUS that some people are allergic to?Tofu can mimic estrogen, promote growth of breast cancer cells, impair thyroid and hormone finction and cause infertility in men.Seitan (another name for gluten) and other vegan meat alternatives are pumped full of sodium additives, like salt. Well, they have to give it some taste.Let’s take a quick look at the ingredients in just one popular fake meat product:water, soy protein concentrate, wheat gluten, contains less than 2% of methyl cellulose, salt, caramel color, dried onions, yeast extract, sesame oil, hydrolyzed wheat protein, natural and artificial flavor (non-meat), disodium guanylate, disodium inosinate. contains: soy, wheat, sesame.Just a glance at these scary ingredients reveals wheat gluten (see seitan, above), yeast extract (read: MSG), artificial flavors (read: poison), soy (no doubt GMO) and a whole pile words I can’t pronounce. Why Fake Meats Are Hurting Your HealthOf course you are not getting necessary vitamins and minerals you get from eating REAL meat. And as to cholesterol:We need a small amount of blood cholesterol because the body uses it to: build the structure of cell membranes. make hormones like oestrogen, testosterone and adrenal hormones. help your metabolism work efficiently, for example, cholesterol is essential for your body to produce vitamin D.With all the artificial gunk they eat, you can understand why vegans take twice as many sick days off as other people do:Vegans 'take twice as many sick days' as meat eating colleagues.

How much water is needed to grow one kilogram of wheat in the US?

An average yield in my area is 3 tons of wheat per acre. This equates to 2,723 kilograms. It takes about 2.75 acre feet per acre to grow a wheat crop, so each kilo takes .00101 acre feet to grow. Expressed in liters this is about 1,245 liters per kilo of wheat.

How many calories are in a serving of bread with butter? What are some ways of reducing the calories?

My rule of thumb is that a pat of butter is 100 calories and a slice of bread is 100 calories. This is just a ballpark because calories are mostly irrelevant. If you want less calories from bread and butter, eat less. Real natural butter is actually fairly healthy and makes you feel satiated. So clearly don't swap that out. Whole wheat is slightly "better" than white, but not that much. You are better of eating a tiny amount of good tasty bread, if it keeps you from consuming lots of low quality bread. If your goal is health or weight loss, rather than knowing a pointless number (calories). Eat bread as part of a meal that has meats and vegetables mixed in. Or, skip the bread, it's empty calories anyway.

What are Subway's healthiest sandwiches?

Subway is my “go-to” restaurant anytime I’m away from home and need a quick lunch that completes the impossible triangle: Good, Fast, and Cheap. However, Subway is not without its pitfalls. Although they have myriad healthful options, they also have quite a few gut-bombs that’ll set you back half a day’s calories (and an entire day’s worth of fat & sodium). If you’re not careful on some of your choices, it’s easy to double the fat and calories in your sandwich… without adding any extra nutrition (or all that much flavor). Also, don’t fall for the “Health Halo” that Subway proudly flaunts: People are likely to consume more calories at Subway than McDonald’s.Some General GuidelinesGet a 6″ sandwich (or salad!). The Footlong sandwiches, unless you get the Veggie DeLite® without cheese, start at 540 calories and can have 2400mg of sodium — a whole day’s worth.Don’t be fooled by the “6 grams of fat or less” menu. Although the healthiest choices are indeed on that menu, some of those options are crazy-high in sodium, and officially none of them include cheese (that’s how they keep the fat content so low) — and my experience is that just about everyone adds cheese.Skip the soda (and get a free cup of water). They also have fresh-brewed iced teas, though make sure to get the unsweetened one.Skip the chips. Get a Bag Of Apples instead, raisins, or perhaps a yogurt. They cost the same as the chips, and Subway includes them in the “combo” meal pricing (if you insist on getting that soda).Watch the Sauce — or you’ll add hundreds of calories without even realizing it.Load up the Veggies — all of the veggies are low-cal and nutritious. If you’re watching sodium, though, consider skipping the pickles (125mg in 3 chips) and jalapeños (70mg in 3 rings).Swap out Iceberg for Spinach — It seems most locations now offer Spinach as an option. Get that instead of the shredded Iceberg Lettuce. You get a similar crunch (and a better taste, in my opinion), and some bonus nutrients. (Spinach is one of the healthiest leafy greens, and iceberg is one of the least).our recommendation for healthy nutrition KIND PLUS, Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate + Protein, Gluten Free Bars, 1.4 Ounce, 12 Count: Amazon.com: Grocery & Gourmet Food please upvote if helpful

Does rice make you gain weight?

Most of people have myth about rice that eating rice everyday will cause you to increase belly fat all by itself, so let me make it clear all my friends . Rice-DietEating rice everyday won't make you fat "Its not the rice but the amount we intake make you fat".have you ever seen a fat "Chinese", No right, then you need to explore more about rice and clear your myths.Point 1: As we know Cooked white rice is digested very quickly and releases energy to blood inbursts of glucose. Sudden release of glucose or spike of glucose puts pancreas under stress. Pancreas is not able to guess the amount of insulin required due to sudden rush of glucose. It ends up over producing insulin.  Insulin is a fat deposit hormone. If the quickly released glucose is not absorbed at the same speed by muscles as glycogen, it will be deposited as fat around waist. To avoid quick release of glucose, choose brown rice over white rice.Slow down the release of glucose further by eating tons of fibre - methi, green fibrous non-starchy vegetablessuch as bitter gourd, cucumber, radish, capsicum, green chillies, coriander leaves, spinach, cabbage, broccoli,  cauliflower, beans, peas, ridge gourd, bottle gourd, snake gourd, etc..Bitter gourd has only 4gm of carbohydrate and 3gm of fiber for 100gm of its weight.read full article on  Does eating rice everyday Makes you fat?
