When Can A 15 Year Old Girl Do Community Service

What are some great community service ideas for a 13-year-old?

I get asked this question so frequently, I created this web page: You are NOT too young to volunteer! For Those That Want To Help. Many organizations won't involve people under 18 at all - and those that do require a parent or guardian to be with the young person, or for the young person to volunteer with a group (like Girl Scouts, a church, etc.). That's why I made this list - so a young person would know all of his or her options.

Can parents sign off on community service hours?

No. your parent's can't sign off on your community service hours. Go back to the places where you volunteered and ask them to sign off. No problem. Remember colleges aren't so much interested in the number of hours or the places you volunteered; they really want to know what you learn from the experiences. How did it make you see the situation differently: how did it affect you and how you will live your life: How did it impact you: How can you help to make the world (even your corner of the world) better? Hope this helps.

Where can my 14-year-old daughter do community service in Floral City/Inverness?

I don’t have a specific answer, and things may not work the same way where you live as they did where I lived, but I do have a suggestion. My husband was the pastor of small churches in different cities in California throughout his life. Young people often came to him to ask if there was any community service they could do at the church. He always had some things they could do to help around the church, from cleaning and organizing, to yard work, to office work. He would supervise them and sign off for the hours they worked for him. The authorities always accepted that as community service. You might check with churches or homeless shelters to see if they are willing to allow your daughter to complete her community service with them.

I'm a 17 year old who wants to do community service in 3rd world countries, but without it being religious based. How do I do this?

There are many good groups to volunteer in. But I like Cody Jay’s answer of choosing the country first and using a local organisation though if you don’t have the cash to get there, this option is not feasible. There are a few approaches to doing this. And you can even combine these approaches.1. As most writers have pointed out, you can join a Community Service Group that work overseas.2. (Following Cody Jay’s advice) Choose a country that you want to help and get local Community Service organisation. Why would I do that? Though the Community Service Group in your country would be better prepared to look after you and make arrangements for you, the local groups would be more in touch with what the local’s needs.Choose a country (or part of the country) that you are interested in or comfortable with. If you are interested in country or area, it is likely that you will return or stay longer. Why is staying longer beneficial? It gives you a better idea of the actual needs and wants of the country. If you have no interest in a return then most of what I say should be ignored. Why use a local organisation? They are more likely to know the local needs rather than a foreign organisation – which may have a limited focus area or specific agenda – for example, toilets and education. These focus areas are not wrong, just limited. This may not work if you don’t even have the funds to get there.3. Thirdly, you can follow one particular issue. Are you interested in water purity? Planting trees or poverty alleviation? Research the area first.4. Forth, you can decide what type (or level) of work you want to help at. Most Community Service work being offered require manual labour or ability to teach a skill or language. But there are places that you can do different types of work. Research – you and small group of students can carry out research on a particular line of work. Administration – some organisations have a shortfall of manpower and need some help here. Unusual projects – I have heard of a group of students who created a bus guide app for Dhaka.

Why did a Swedish Muslim get 40 hours of community service for raping a 13-year-old girl?

Don’t forget the ~1500 € fine. That makes the punishment a whole order of magnitude more punitive!Muslim men pretend to be younger than they are and throw away their IDs in order to facilitate the immigration process.[1]Muhammad set a precedent with Aisha in terms of the relationship between Muslim men and women. It’s perfectly fine to be anti-Christian and/or anti-Jew in the West. After all, what are we going to do to you? Pray for you?[2]How intolerant of us! However, when it comes to Islam, it is viewed as bigotry to say anything politically incorrect about the doctrines contained in the Qur’an or the Hadith, whether truthful or not. It is viewed as intolerant and hateful to say anything of a less than stellar nature about the habits and practices of those who choose to follow the aforementioned teachings. Why?Because deep down, people are actually worried about being bigoted (but not toward Christians or Jews because, according to the narrative, we are the bigots). Many Westerners can’t fathom the existence of anyone that categorically wants to see them, at best, as second-class citizens, and at worst, persecuted, raped, tortured, and killed. Surely, it is argued, poverty, patriarchal thoughts, and victimhood are to blame as opposed to human nature.Because those that can fathom the existence of a sizeable segment of the Earth’s population[3] that wants to see them as second-class citizens, persecuted, raped, tortured, and killed, are afraid of their wives being raped in front of their eyes and stabbed to death; of being dismembered and tortured; of being shot at point-blank range by a child in training, etc.. Though the statistical likelihood of such things happening to any single individual is currently very small, speaking up when everyone else is silent puts a huge target on your back.It is much easier for some people to deal with instigating and perpetuating a travesty of justice than to have the Sword of Damocles dangle over their heads.Footnotes[1] Just how old do you think these migrant 'children' are?[2] Bible Gateway passage: Matthew 5:43-44 - English Standard Version[3] Ben Shapiro: The Myth of the Tiny Radical Muslim Minority

How can I, a 15-year old girl, make a difference in the world?

Well first of all, you shouldn't listen to people who say you are of little importance, that's some hogwash. Everyone is of importance.

At 15, well, what do you want to help with? You have the internet, you can virtually go and do anything you want. I think you should pick an organization or cause you like and look around for ways you can help promote it in your community, etc.

But you have to decide on what is important to you, you can't let a bunch of faceless personas on Yahoo Answers tell you what to do, that's part of being an individual. And then you have to get out there an do it. Even if it's just recycling at your house or organzing a clothes donation drive at your school, do something you can wrap your brain around and do that. Then try something a little bigger, etc. Don't try to save the world on your first day, try saving your living room and work your way up.

Kids are doing amazing things everyday, I for one would never tell anyone of any age they can't do anything these days, good luck, keep your chin up and don't try to grow up too soon.

Could a 13 year old girl volunteer in Senior Center?

depends on the senior center. One has to be old enough to call and ask.

What can a ten year old do as a sivicce my kid wants to but what are same good jobs she can do?

Here are 2 websites that would be a good place to start to find a place to volunteer.

Also, if you can't find an organization that she can volunteer through, there are lots of ways you can find things to do that aren't through a group.

You could call some of the local nursing homes and asking if they have any volunteer opportunities, maybe she could go and read or just spend time with an elderly person who doesn't have many visitors.

She could help with yard work for an elderly or infirm person in the neighborhood, or she could volunteer to go and be a "Mother's Helper" for someone with small children a couple of times a month (I would be careful with these two ideas though and only let her do it for people you have checked out and feel are safe).

As a family, you could adopt a section of road and keep it clean.

You could help her organize a clean up day at a local park for her friends and neighbors. (Help her contact your city's parks and recreation and talk to them about it, then help her make some flyers to hand out around the neighborhood, or put up signs or whatever, get a big box of outdoor garbage bags, and go to town...)

If you attend a church of some sort, ask your Clergy Person for ways she could volunteer.

This one takes awhile, but she could let her hair grow and then donate it to Locks of Love (they use the hair to make wigs for children and adults with cancer).

Volunteer with her, so she see's that not only is this something important, but it can be fun, and it can be a family thing. Even if the volunteer job she gets isn't exactly what she has in mind now, help her to remember to stick with volunteering, because eventually she will be old enough to do more of what she might want to do, and it will be good if she has some volunteer experience, and also, it doesn't have to be "cool" to be a volunteer job tha makes an impact on your community - in fact, it's often the "not so cool" volunteer jobs that do the most good.

Good luck :-) It sounds like your daughter has a very good heart :-)

Could a 15 year old girl launch a non-profit PROGRAM but not an organisation?

Your option is either to start a nonprofit organization (no need to hire lawyers, but you do have to recruit a board of directors), and spend years building this organization partnering with organizations in developing countries that work with girls and think a 15 year old in the USA would be a great person to mentor them, etc. - OR, a much better idea: join an existing organization that helps people, especially girls, in other countries, and build your skills that you would actually be qualified to help girls in other countries.
