When Did Email And Cellphones Appeared For Public

Are cell phone numbers listed in the white pages?

I know almost everyone is getting rid of their landline phone because of the economy and nowadays people use cell phones. So my one question is would I be available in the white pages if all I have is a cell phone and I moved to a new address or be considered unlisted? What would happen anyway to the phonebook white pages if everyone uses cell phones now and live in a current address and no one has landline phones anymore?

If an Unknown number appears on a cellphone, what's that mean?

It means that someone is blocking their number with *67 and calling you. If you have told them to stop calling and then continue to call that is harassment. Starting keeping a written log of how often they call and do not delete it off your call history. Write down the time, what was said, ect. If the calls do not stop go to the police and file a report. They will call the person and warn them not to call again. If after that the calls continue you will have the option to press charges.

How can you create a Yahoo! account without entering a cell phone number (or any kind of phone number at all)?

It’s possible to create a Yahoo account without mobile number. You need to have either an alternate email address or mobile number which would allow you to reset your password in case you forget one. If you enter your existing email address, then Yahoo won’t ask you for mobile number. But if you’re creating a new Yahoo mail, you’ve to enter the mobile number which will help you with password reset request.See below screenshot. Mobile number field is appearing but when I click on I’d rather use my own email address, the mobile number field goes away.

Can you trace a prepaid cell phone number?

If you're being harassed, etc you can. If they purchased a prepaid plan, then the cell company - or the store where they bought it - should have their information on record.

Have you called the person and asked who it is? Tell them you keep finding their number on your caller ID or something.

Are there any totally free reverse phone lookup services for cell phones in the US?

http://shortcodes.org/ is an entirely free phone lookup service for finding info on phone calls and text messages that you receive. You can lookup cell phone numbers, landline numbers, and even short code numbers (businesses use these to send mass text messages). How it works, is that users report phone numbers that they receive phone calls or texts from, helping to verify who is behind each number. This creates an up-to-date database of phone number info that can’t be reproduced. If for whatever reason, the site doesn’t have info on the number you’re searching, you’ll be redirected to a partner site that does have that info (these sites may be more limited in the info they show for free).
