When Frank Sinatra Was Big Did Young People Listen To Him Or Was He More For Older People I

Do young people listen to Beatles music?

Well, I’m 16 years old and I love The Beatles. And The Rolling Stones and Elvis Presley and Oasis. I mean I could listen to John Lennon’s voice all day it’s so beautiful. And I know many people from my school who love Oasis and The Beatles. I mean I have a little bit of everything on my playlist. I have a bit of:Rap; Eminem, The Black Eyed PeasAlternative Rock; Imagine Dragons, Mumford and SonsSlow Rock; David Bowie, Elliott Smith (I mean I guess he’s more Indie rock)Pop; Anything on the radio, Harry Syles (especially his new album I think it’s an amazing start to a solo career) I even have a couple one direction songs on my playlistOther artists that I can’t be bothered to find the genre for include: Pink floyd, Disclosure, Frank Sinatra, Zayn, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, the 1975, Bastille, Ed Sheeran, Tom Odell, Twenty one pilots, Troye Sivan, MCR, Panic! At the disco, Hans Zimmer, Michael Jackson, Coldplay, Queen, Prince, Kings of Leon, Johnny Cash (Though I’ll admit I only have ‘Hurt’ on my playlist), The Script, Birdy, Arctic Monkeys, Bob Marley, I even have Justin Bieber and there’s more but I’m a music freak so we’d be here all day, but to answer your question which I have completely avoided with my long answer:Do young people listen to The Beatle’s music?Yes, lots do, but many young people don’t because it’s not on the radio anymore. They can use youtube, sure, but when you have music that is familiar to you already you might be reluctant to listen to others. I listen to anything, if it has a nice beat/sound/flow to it I’ll happily listen to it. But others might not be like that. It’s the same as back then; The Beatles would have been all young people would have heard and they would have liked it. I mean, I don’t think many people would have heard many songs like ‘Despacito’ or ‘Rockabye’ in the 60s. It’s the same way many young people then would have probably not listened to Josephine Baker or Nat King Cole. Your taste in music is largely influenced by what you hear around you. Different people have different tastes, The Beatles are iconic, even if you haven’t listened to a song from The Beatles almost everybody knows who they are. Their legacy will outlive them all.Sorry for my long answer I really like music and this question made me happy so sorry for rambling and if you want to talk about artists and music message me! That’s probably my favourite topic to talk about!

How would you feel if your teen started listening to Frank Sinatra?

I had to endure my parents telling me that Led Zeppelin, The Stones, The Beatles etc were “just noise”. It wasn’t music they understood. It was created when they had decided what “their” music was, and it wasn’t this. Similarly, I rejected their music as quaint old jolly crap.Kids these days seem much less rigid, and willingly accept things that straddle generations and styles. My kids actually like The Beatles…as well as a huge variety of genres that are not “theirs”. I’m pleased that they appreciate good stuff, whatever the era. And so should you be.

Why has Frank Sinatra endured while Bing Crosby has largely been forgotten?

Two reason I think:The book by Bing’s son Gary, trashing his father who was no longer alive to defend himself, did irreparable harm to Crosby’s image. Bing’s second wife and family defend him as being a great family man. His other sons from his first marriage defended him. Even Gary Crosby partially recanted what he wrote before he died, but the damage was done.Recording quality. Sinatra was about twelve years younger. The recording industry and technology was still fairly new and evolving rapidly. There were many advancements in quality made by Crosby himself, who was quite an innovator. But Crosby’s peak vocal years were just a bit past when Sinatra made his best recordings. The recording quality of some of Bing’s best work, while great in its day, is more primitive by modern standards, and the arrangements were more old fashioned. Where Sinatra’s recordings still sound fresh and new, many of Crosby’s just sound old and dated. It’s kind of shame. Crosby was arguably the most successful entertainer of the 20th century. Sinatra’s career had its ups and down. Crosby was the most popular American singer from around 1930 until the rock ’n roll era began, after which he still remained a popular, iconic figure for the rest of his life.

Why do most old people dislike present day songs and mostly listen to old music?

I am a music producer who has been in the field for the past 6 years and I enjoy classical music as much as I like the new Electro Dance Music. Now, let us come to the question. why do old people mostly tend to listen to old music. Let's have a look at the 'new' music that is slowly taking over. It is mostly EDM and sometimes a hybrid version of Modern Rock and Electronic Drum elements. The 'new' songs are engineered properly and mastered with the tools that were not available back in those days. They are crafted with tools which deal with all kinds of psycho-acoustic stuff, which barely mattered in those days. Things like compression , Equalization and Mid-Side Processing were not even in the picture. It's not like they didn't want their tracks to be perfect or something ; It's just that there were no such tools available back in their time.Although, you might have heard of the saying that "Old songs are more musical than the new songs". Well, that might be true up to some extent but then again it is highly relative. I have heard old songs which were like 'super hits' back in those days , yet those songs ignored basic music theory aspects and lacked creativity.Listen to "ABCD" from "Hum saath saath hain" if you want some insight. The lyrics are basically a recitation of the English alphabet.or"Tu mera Superman" from Dariya Dil. I have no idea how people could dance to that. The point I am trying to make is that, it is not the songs that are being released these days that are not likable , it is the people's opinion in general. The conflict often arises when 'old' people tend to attach their personal feelings and emotions to the songs that were available during their young age. They might have enjoyed it back then as it was best of their time but times change.

What are some good rap songs for old people?

So my grandma is having a party for her 90'th birthday and her old friends will be there. I am in charge of the music, and I am trying to find some good rap songs for older people. So far, I am considering "Get Your Roll On" by Big Tymers.
