My legs keep going numb when I sit down and lay down. Sometimes my feet become numb and tingle which hurts?

It could be a few things. If you have diabetes, it may be the onset of diabetic polyneuropathy. It could also be fibromialga. Those would be my first guesses but it could also be things like lyme disease, MS, or a pinched nerve.

Right-side pelvic pain, pain shooting down right leg (to calf) -- causes? Going on almost a year, just now got severe. 36-year-old female.?

Update: I've been to my gynecologist in recent months and he did not feel any ovarian cysts -- however, it's possible I developed one/some since my last appointment. My right leg feels nearly numb all the way down. I'm awake at 3 a.m. now unable to sleep due to discomfort.

I have pain and numbness in my right arm and leg. What is causing this pain?

Consult a Neurologist ASAP

When I woke up my whole arm was numb and I wasn't laying on it. Why?

There is a whole list of potential answers to your question:Sleeping posture. Too many pillows under your head can cause the intervertebral foramen to become closed and compress the brachial nerves, compression of the brachial artery, spasm of the scalene musculature.Cervical rib at C7Disc herniation of the cervical spineScoliosisSome potentially dangerous causes:Space occupying lesion within the brain on the right parietal lobe. Space occupying lesion may include benign or non-benign tumor, aneurysm, parasitic infection.Tumor within the spinal canal.Cytsocoel within the spinal cord.Degenerative bone spur…and the list goes on and on.The point is that it is not normal, but also not necessarily difficult to find out or dangerous.I would recommend that you take the steps necessary to discover the underlying cause and you may need to visit a number of specialists to figure it out. I would start by ruling out any potentally dangerous causes by first visiting a neurologist. If that gets you nowhere, then an ortopedist, or chiropractor. If you still have problems after visiting these doctors, try a physical therapist or licensed massage therapist. Still no help? Start over until the cause has been discovered.

Experiencing pain/numbness/tingling in my legs?

It could be something as simple as poor circulation especially if you start feeling it while sitting down. It could be your legs falling asleep. The weird feeling you are experiencing could be the rush of blood flowing back into your legs after the circulation was reduced. Now, on another note, it could be something a bit more serious like a pinched nerve in your lower back. Often times, pinched nerves can lead to leg pain and numbness. I included an article that might help you out!

Scary numbness and pain in legs while sleeping.?

Keep an eye on this and if the pain or tingling continues it may be the beginning of DVT.

This is very painful and pain pills do not help. I have had it for over 2 years and the doctor was slow to diagnose it until I was in critical shape.

Mine started with a sudden onset of calf pain and leg swelling. The pain was worse when the leg was hanging down. There was warmth to the area because the veins were inflamed.

I am on coumidin (warfarin) as a blood thinner. Usually when they say 6 months, they mean for the rest of your life. The blood thinner does not resolve the current clot problem, but supposedly keeps new clots from forming.

Deep vein thrombosis, or DVT, is caused by a blood clot in a muscle and can be life-threatening. Symptoms include swelling, pain, and tenderness in the legs. Risk factors include immobility, hormone therapy, and pregnancy.

DVTs can occur anywhere in the body but are most frequently found in the deep veins of the legs, thighs, and pelvis. They may infrequently arise from the upper extremities usually because of trauma, or from an indwelling catheter (tubing) or device.

A deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a condition wherein a blood clot (thrombus) forms in a vein of the deep system.

Thrombophlebitis is a condition in which there is both inflammation and a blood clot in a vein. Thrombophlebitis can occur in either superficial or deep veins. Superficial thrombophlebitis occurs in veins close to the skin surface, and usually causes pain, swelling, and redness in the area of the vein. Superficial thrombophlebitis usually is treated with heat, elevation of the affected leg or arm, and anti–inflammatory medications. A thrombosis in a deep vein is a much more serious problem than one in a superficial vein. The reason for this is that a piece of the clot in deep vein from a DVT can break off and travel through the deep veins back to the heart, and eventually be pumped by the heart into the arteries of the lung. When this happens, the condition is called pulmonary embolism (PE). The blood clot is called an embolus (plural emboli), and the process of breaking off and traveling to the lungs is called embolism.

Narcotics didn’t help my pain. I now take Tizanidine 4mg 5/day and Lyrica Cv 100 mg 3/day. This helps the nerve pain and I can walk some now. I am feeling much better pain wise.

My legs go numb every time i'm standing?

This was on a site I found -
Tingling and Itching
Due to the swelling of tissues in the narrow passages of your wrists, tingling and numbness in the fingers is a common occurrence during pregnancy. The swollen tissues put pressure on nerves which can cause numbness and tingling. If the numbness is accompanied by pain and is located in the area of the thumb, index finger, middle finger and half of your ring finger, you may be suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome.

Since fluids tend to accumulate in your hands and feet throughout the day due to gravity, you may find that your symptoms are more severe at night. Avoid sleeping on your hands and try elevating then on a separate pillow when you go to sleep. You can also try hanging the affected hand over the side of the bed and shaking it when numbness occurs. If the numbness persists, check with your practitioner.

I'm 36 weeks preggo - the tingling has only gotten worse for me as the weeks go by and has progressed into painful vericose veins and throbbing in my hips and joints. My doc said I have to stick it out, there isn't anything you can do. I work on my posture, trying to keep my spine straight to avoid pinching off any nerves. I drink a lot of fluids too to keep my body flushed. There is more than just the baby causing this, your uterus is growing and you have twice the blood you did before becoming pregnant, add the amniotic fluid and that is a lot of pressure in your pelvic region, right where your veins, arteries and nerves all pass.

Hopefully it wont get too bad for you. Talk to your doc if it does, maybe they can recommend a pregnancy massage or get you off your feet more during the day. Have a great pregnancy!
