When Is Yahoo Upgrading Y-messenger For Yosemite

How do I upgrade to OS X Yosemite on my Retina Mac?

To "upgrade" to an old OS version, call 1-800-myapple and ask if they will give you a download code for the discontinued software.

All Macs that are able to run "Yosemite" can run "El Capitan", which is available free from the App Store on the Dock.

Upgrading to OS X Yosemite backup help?

Hello I have a mac book pro newest version, and I want to upgrade it to OS X Yosemite but I heard that I should take a backup before upgrading to keep my data safe. I tried using time machine to backup it needed a disk to put my backup on so I connected a hard drive . There are pictures on this hard drive downloaded from windows, so it said I should erase all data to change the format of the drive and take a back up and I don't want that.
So my question is it necessary to back up before upgrading. Or that is there anyway I can backup on the computer or over the internet? Is there any specific apps that work?

I need a yahoo messenger version for my Mac Yosemite, version 10.10.?

Does anyone know how to use the Yahoo Messenger on Yahoo mail? I think the mail has to be open, but I don't know how to use messenger on that. I read where someone does use that, but I couldn't figure out how yet. I'm going to the Apple Store tomorrow so I'll mention this to the guy at the Genius bar.

Yahoo Messenger for Yosemite ? When ?

I just found this thread and also the official yahoo response that messenger will no longer be supported on MAC. That is so confounding to me as it would be standard practice to keep your aps updated with the new releases. To me the message is clear, Yahoo has an intentional strategy to not support messenger on MAC. And that it's apple users are not important enough to over ride that strategy. The appropriate response from all of use would be not to use the yahoo mail version of messenger as it will reward Yahoo for this decision. (not to mention the mail version is practically featureless). Move on to Skype and change your mail to gmail or something else. It might be painful to move your contacts and ask your friends to move to another messenger service but most everyone uses multiple apps anyway. If you really want to send a message to Yahoo it is the only way.

Upgrade Mac to Yosemite?

"Macbook Pro Late 2011, and I have found no way to upgrade it to Yosemite... use 10.7.5, which I absolutely hate"

First, be sure whatever is driving you mad about 10.7.5 is "fixed" in 10.10.

Apple does not keep any old versions of OS X on the App Store. The moment a new version is posted, the previous version disappears. Call U.S.: 1-800-275-2273 or UK: (44) 0844 209 0611
and ask if they can provide a code to download Yosemite from the non-public area of the App Store server.

You can also get OS X version 10.13 ("High Sierra") from the App Store free.

If you are not sure you want to upgrade to OS X 10.13, make a new 20GB partition of the internal drive (needs about 25GB available space) as the target for OS X 10.13 (a dual boot). Then if you hate it, you can simply delete that new partition and add the empty space to the old partition. If you love 10.13, remove the partition, and add the space to the original partition, followed by installing 10.13 (an upgrade) on the original partition.

Should I upgrade to Yosemite from snow leopard on a five year old mac?

I have a mac that's five years old, and it's running slow sometimes.

There are problems, like I haven't got the latest version of iTunes, because it's only available on the latest operating systems.

I have another computer as well, a Mac mini, which came with lion, and I haven't upgraded that either.

I'm wondering if I should upgrade both of them to yosemite, but I heard they might not have enough memory?

I'm planning on buying some more memory to put into the bottom of the computer, so it has more RAM or whatever, I don't really understand all that.

So, should I upgrade my computer directly from snow leopard, upgrade to each of the other OSs on the way there, or should I take all the important stuff off my computer, and reset it to factory settings, and do a fresh install of Yosemite, or something like that?

I don't really know anything about it, so a detailed explanation of everything would be great, but meant for a dummy.

Should I upgrade to OS Yosemite?

I made the switch the day Yosemite came out, and I've no particularly strong feelings either way. It hasn't slowed my MBP down, like many people say, but it hasn't really given me much that I didn't have before, either. In fact, I'd be hard-pushed to say what it's done, positive or negative.

The one thing I would say, though, is that if you have an iPhone using iOS 8, the handoff and other integration features are a major plus in my view.

Other than that, I do think it's good to be on the latest version of OS X, because that ensures best compatibility, security, etc. And unlike Windows where you pay to upgrade, it's F.O.C so there's no real reason not to do it.
