Why are you asking the question? if it related to race, the answer is about chromosomes. If it’s about culture, there it relates to how and where you were brought up. My children have an Anglo-Irish Father and a Filipina mother, and were brought up in Belgium, and are now living in Paris with children from French fathers. My totally bilingual (English/French) 9 year old Granddaughter has declared that she is more British than French, though because of the chromosome question she looks more Asian than her mother. She goes to a French language school 4 days a week, and English language school 1 day a week, speaking English at home in France. I am also bilingual, but I always speak to her in English, while her other grandparents, from France always speak French. Is she French, British/Irish or Filipina? I don’t think she worries too much what the answer is.
My daughter is due to go on a school trip to France next year and Disneyland in Paris is obviously the main attraction. How safe will she be?
This question makes me sad on a few levels.I am assuming based on the phrasing of the question that you are concerned that your daughter could die as a result of a terrorist attack whilst visiting France. Whilst the only certainty in life is that it will end at some point....this makes me really sad that you would consider denying your daughter a life experience because of an unknown threat. The goal of these idiots carrying out these attacks is to try to make people live in fear. You thinking like this partly validates their nonsensical acts of hate and violence.Also from a statistical stand point, this fear is completely irrational. Stats show that if risk to your daughter is your concern, then keeping her from ever getting behind the wheel of a car is probably the biggest opportunity to protect her from harm. There are some stats in the table below to give some context to the likelihood of dying in a terror threat vs. other hazards.Finally....for the sake of my faith in humanity.... Please do not tell me that the primary reason for your daughter to visit an amazing place like Paris is to spend her days in Disneyland Paris???This is Paris....home of the Louvre, Notre Dames, Arch de Triumph, Eiffel Tower, Picasso Museum.....to name a few of the hundred of unique sights. Sending someone to Paris to go to Disneyland is a bit like sending someone to Michelin star restaurant to go eat their Happy Meal.
