What are the uses of Microsoft Word?

MS Word is essentially a word processing application, like Zoho, Google Docs, ThinkFree, Etherpad etc. You can get similar desktop applications (that can be installed on your computer) from Open Office, Neo Office or IBM Lotus Symphony etc. MS Word is an application which is a part of Microsoft Office Suits. As we can see, MS Word is used mainly for word processing. Best book writing software?

We are book printing experts, so we take the approach that you will eventually want to get the book printed professionally.

In our opinion, the best software for writing books, which will also support your book getting printed professionally, depends on what type of book.

For the typical black & white novel, Microsoft Word would be recommended.

For the typical illustrated book (such as a children's book or cook book), InDesign would be the recommended software for putting together the book along with using Photoshop or Illustrator for the graphics.
