Where Are Flower Markets On The Gold Coast For Wedding Flowers

How much would it cost to have a wedding at Kolkata?

I got married this 31st May in Calcutta, so have a decent idea on this.Disclaimer - This a middle class Bengali Hindu white money estimate.Main expenditure points -Venue - Depends upon number of guests, for 200–300 it’s around 1.5 L + decorations and flowers -> 30 K. For 500 or more, 2.5- 3 L.Caterer - Around 800 per plate for dinner. Around 350 for bashi biye (if you have that ritual).Bride’s reception dress - 20 to 70 k. Wishes of you missus :)Bride’s jewelry - One set of earrings, and a decent necklace, along with a loha badhano ( bangle, gold plated), two decent gold bangles would cost you 3 to 3.5 L.Wedding ring - Mine costed 65 K (good quality solitaire). You get decent ones from 25k.Bridal make up package - 15 for make up, 12–15 for body polish and what not.Groom’s dress etc - 5 to 10 k if ethnic. A decent Perry Ellis or CK suit or a tailor made one with matching tie, shirt, leather shoes would be - 23k.Groom’s salon - mine costed 3600 at some habib’s. You can go less or more.Family salon package - Depends upon your bargaining skills.Tatva ( gifts to in-laws and bride) - Again depends upon how much you want to give, say if 10 people in the in-laws side, you will end up spending 15–20k.Logistics - Cars, pickups, hotel booking for out of town friends, relatives etc. - Depends on number of people, I’d suggest booking empty flats or houses nearby and have your decorator provide bedding stuff if it’s a winter marriage. If a summer wedding, you will end up spending at least 1500 to 2000 rupees per room per day at any decent guest house with AC.Marriage car with decoration. - I didn’t go for a decorated car, because I wanted a classic car for wedding.. which was not available for that date. 8 to 10 k just for car decoration + whatever the car’s rent.marriage invitation cards - 10–20 K for 500+ cards.Registry official etc. - Usual fees.Home decoration, lighting etc. - Depends on the number of days you use them for.Photographer - Mine was a 18.5k. However, people shell out much more if you have pre- marriage photo shoots or music videos done.Hope this helps.

Where is the best place to street shop in Mangalore?

Mangalore cannot be called a shoppers paradise simply because, there is nothing special to sell or to buy. Most of the stuffs are brought over from mumbai or other cities  hence does't make sense to buy them, especially if you are from mumbai. However, over a period of time, some of the stuff of mangalore have become legendary such as:-1. Gadbad Icecream. Worth the money and the  ambience of all the outlets are  good. It is a must if you are visiting the city in the month of May, during school holidays. There is always a stream of visitors coming in and going out and service is pretty fast.2. FOOD:-Food is good and reasonably priced.. If you are looking for good place for snacks, nothing to beat Indra Bhavan, near Balmatta. Their Bonda and Buns preparation is to die for which can be washed down with a glass of terrific coffee.3. Fruit and vegetable  market, near Rupavani theatre, is a good place to visit and buy at reasonable price. At the entrance to the market, there are some flower sellers ( old ladies). who must be sitting in that place for the last 50 odd years and they are still alive...selling the same commodity.. mallige, jaaji, sampige, bettal leaves  and few other stuff. 4. A thriving Fish market but prices are too high for a coastal city. One can get cheaper and better fish in mumbai at 2/3 of the rate. One need to know fisher woman to get good fish at reasonable rate. 5. The city used to be controlled by Konkani business community few decades ago but now it has been taken over by Muslim traders. 6. Few good shops to buy sweets is Tajmahal at hampakatta, D'souza, kalpana and Komals  in the market road and for Bakery products, nothing to beat Vaz & Sons near St.Agnes college and at balmatta road.Mangalore is known for silk saree emporiums and  few good well known Jewellery shops as well. Plenty Footwear shops near around Market road at reasonable rates provided you know how to do the bargaining. Ganesh Market is where you do shopping for weekly provisions. For buying your booze, one shop near balmatta, called Wine gate and one near Lady Goshen hospital, opposite Town hall. There are plenty booze joints in every nook and corner of the city but you can't enjoy your drink standing next to a guy who is on his 11th peg...I can list out some more but hope this gives a summary of what one case expect within the city limits...

I want to be a little more creative than the norm. What kinds of flowers do girls like besides roses?

First, I'd like to give you props for going for flowers. A guy who has given me flowers would never get turned down when he asks me out on first date.So onto your question, I love white calla lillies and lilies. White flowers in general really do it for me.And PEONIES. White and pale pink ones. Oh me. They're very soft and delicate looking, and often used in weddings. I guess that means it pairs with the euphoria of being the happiness woman in the world. But honestly, I would find any bouquet or single flower of any type, if they're for me, quite sweet. I would be happy whether it was $250 or picked from the side of the road. So I'm beyond easy to please. However, what would really impress me is if a guy and I have similar taste. I love simplicity, so it's hard to go wrong with a single beautiful long stemmed flower for me. Lilies look kind of weird alone, but they look nice with any ornamental greens/flowers.Some people seem to include flower combinations and arrangements that would really earn you major bonus points. That would take not only thought, but creative thought. I generally look at the design and taste of things more than the things themselves, because it sheds light on elements beyond the superficial. There are so many things to consider with curating a bouquet of flowers that I would really be floored with a stunning arrangement. I think Quora is an excellent source for inspiration and ideas, but it would really come down to the type of guy you are and the type of girl she is. :)

Why do Bengal Brahmins eat fish?

For two simple reasons:1. The love for non-vegetarian food2. Local availabilityAccording to the NCERT History textbook that I read, Bengali Brahmins did indeed try to have a purely vegetarian lifestyle. That didn't last long as  people simply couldn't turn away from the cheap and very easily available fish. Hence, the Brahmins made a special rule allowing Bengali Brahmins to eat certain types of fish. So eating fish is not against religious laws (as is the case with others) because we changed those laws to suit our history and geography. Some people are astonished by how integrated non-vegetarian food has become ingrained in the Bengali lifestyle. My mother remembers that during Kali Pooja in her childhood in Kolkata, a goat used to be sacrificed and the meat was used to cook the 'bhog' that was given to Goddess Kali. I have never seen meat being offered to the gods during any other Hindu worship ceremony in any other region. And frankly speaking when you can have food like these: who would like to go back to being vegetarian!!
