I just bought a "brand new" xbox 360 pro on ebay (the 20GB HDD version). I tried connecting the power supply to the console and it wouldn't fit. There's seems to be a plastic pin in between the sockets in the back. I've read in forums that it can be removed and the cord will plug in with no problems but i don't wannna do that cause i'm afraid i might make the problem worse. Has anyone had this problem? Do the 60GB and 20GB versions use a different power supply? Or the arcade and elite versions use different power supplies? HELP!!!!!!!

You have to use the 203W power supply if your 360 needs 203W. It's ok to use a larger power supply with an Xbox that needs less (that is, a 360 that needs 175W can use a 203W power brick). If you try it the other way around, the 360 is going to try to pull more power than the brick actually can handle. This either means that the 360 isn't getting enough power, in which case the 360 can randomly crash. Or, the power brick will supply too much power, overloading it and possibly making it fail. There have been Elites that use all three types of power supply -- it's not the model, but the chipset inside it that controls how much power it needs. Older 360s used the 203W supplies; in 2008 they were mostly Falcons that used 175, and 2009 is the Jasper that needs 150W.

question about my xbox one. I bought xbox one in the us played well with no problem. BUT I plugged it to 220V instead of 110 V right after I plugged in, I heard big pop sounds so I just unplugged in. and now my xbox seems like doesn't work. I am wondering if I just fried power supply or whole the console. I am worried because power supply was connected to the console when I plugged in since i am in oversee now, i can't even go to microsoft and ask them for repair. can I just get a new power supply? or my xbox is already dead...?
