Where Can I Buy Horse Feed By Wholesale

Where can I buy a horse in India? How much would it cost me?

You can find a good horse at a local race track. In Mumbai, we have Mahalakshmi race course, where horse races are held occasionally. They will sell the horses which are useless in race work. You can buy that horse. The cost can be anything from Rs. 50000 to lakhs. Old horses with uneven skin colour will cost less, while Beautiful young and proven horses will cost more. The average cost of a good horse of black or brown colour will be around Rs 1 - 1.5 lakhs. Please also note that after you buy the horse, its maintenance will cost high and it is no way related to owning a dog.

Why don't we raise horses for meat commercially?

Actually, the use of horse meat for pet food is a taxable business. No one in the US breeds horses for the purpose but horses that age out are killed for that purpose. You meant for humans but you didn’t mention that. I added it for completeness. There is a specific history to why Christians banned the eating of horse meat. It’s a matter of conversion pressure. In ancient times everyone needed a horse, so some farmers bred horses for sale as work animals. In any breeding program like that there must be culls. In ancient times meat was not wasted. So every year there was a feast on the culled horses for that year. Modern Asatru call it Freyfaxi and we now eat bread baked in the shape of a horse. It tends to be on the weekend closed to august 2nd.When the missionaries converted the various branches of Germanic people it was hard to beat the celebration aspect of a feast on good quality red meat in the middle of the summer. So they declared that horses are pets and it’s evil to eat pets. That’s how it started that people are taught to be disgusted at the idea of eating horse meat. Because by economic necessity it was a celebration in the summer during the heathen era.In the myths, Odin’s horse Sliepnir is better known because it has eight legs. I don’t know why it was about Frey the harvest deity at a time when not harvesting.

What does full care horse boarding usually include?

"Full Care Horse Boarding" is usually either the most expensive - or the second most expensive arrangement that you can contract for, at horse boarding facilities.  (Occasionally there is a higher level of care, which might be called "all inclusive".) Full Care usually means the staff will supply your horse with basic care in the most complete 'package' that particular stable is willing to offer... plus additional care for which you may be charged additional fees... and you will still be expected to supply the remainder of the horse's care.So - what is 'generally' included in 'full care' can vary significantly.  The services most likely to be included will be the basic care that all horses need; basic feed and water, basic cleaning of the pen and shed or stall and run, routine turnout, and your use of all stables amenities such as round pen, arena, trails, trailer parking, tack rooms, rest rooms and social area.  By default you also get the expertise of the person managing the stables property, to ensure that the water pipes don't freeze, the fences are in good repair, ailments and injuries are spotted and attended to (including notifying the horse owner and calling for veterinary care if appropriate), hay is always available and kept in suitable storage and so on.Frequently services that are not required by all horses will be considered "extra" -and have an extra fee attached.  For example, not all horses need to have regular supplements and some horses eat more than the average; so supplementing or feeding a few additional lbs of hay may only be available for a fee. Not all horse owners want their horse blanketed, so that too may require paying an extra charge.  If stalls at the stable are routinely bedded then bedding will probably be included in the Full Care price, but if the stable offers the choice of bedding or no bedding, then getting bedding will generally incur an added charge.  Not every horse needs to be shod, and some horse owners do their own barefoot trims - so that, too, may be done for a fee... and so on.Many boarding facilities also offer some savings by arranging for routine veterinary care at group rates.  On the scheduled day they may even catch your horse and hold it for the vet, without an added fee as offering this service helps ensure that all the horses are equally well protected by vaccines and examined regularly for any health issues.

How do you make homemade grain for your horse?

I have a almost 10 year old quarter horse mare, and she is getting super skinny, I cant afford Good quality fattening grain, so I was wondering if there was a way to make my own grain that will fatten her up fast. She is usually on grain, and hay, she is out in the pasture eating good grass 24/7.

I really need to see what I can do!

Thanks!

I have been feeding my fish dry oatmeal for the past couple weeks, is that OK?

i think it would just fill them up and not give them te nutirents they need

How much does it cost to purchase, keep, butcher, and process a cow?

Oh lord, this is a tough question. So much is variable. The cattle market can be highly violatile. I just sold some heifers (females that have not had their first calf) under 500 lbs, I got about 1.24–1.28 per pound. I had some 700 lb heifers in there as well, they brought in 63 cents a lb. they actually sold for less in absolute terms than the much younger and smaller half sisters. This is probably because the local feedlots felt they were going to have a surplus in 3 months, but a shortage of cows in 6–7.So the price is highly viariable, depends on time of year, and location, anything I tell you will almost be out of date. Google prices of local auctions will give you a much better idea of prices you can expect to pay.For how much to keep a cow, again, it depends. Where I live in NC, it cost the property taxes for 1.5 acres, plus about $250 a year to keep a cow. The $250 a year covers fence maintenance, fertilizer, seed, hay, salt, and deworming. Out west in AZ, it takes almost a square mile per cow, plus water. It cost be about $350- $400 to butcher a 1,000 lb cow. If I can sell the meat for an average of $4.50 a lb, I break even. That is about grocery store prices for hamburger, but you can sell the steaks for a lot more per lb.
