Where can i buy Lorde Pure Heroine the Extended edition on cd?
i want this damn cd SO bad. i'm am Lorde's Biggest fan and i want it on cd. i can only find it to download and i don't want that. i want a cd copy of it. i've looked on Amazon i've looked at Walmart i've looked at Kmart and nobody seems to have a physical copy of it. do they even have a psychical copy of it? i just want it so bad. please help me.
Why is using your own money to finance your own music album or film considered a vanity project?
It shouldn't be:I believe we're going to inevitably see huge growth in DIY projects as production costs drop, distribution costs drop, and marketing costs drop. Self production is inevitably in our future, it is unfortunate that production values will inevitably drop as well, or a better way to express it is that the proportion of poorly produced projects will rise as they will not be filtered out by the prohibitive production costs of the past anymore. That doesn't mean there will be less good production, but that there will be more bad production.The reason for this is that you can do quite well marketing in a niche, I know many working musicians who self-produce even if it's just to sell CD's at coffee shop, restaurant, or club gigs and use as demos for booking (I've engineered many over the years). If you're not giving away 80 points or more under contract to a record company, you only need to sell 1/5 of the volume to match revenues, and it's so much easier to recoup, (make back production/distribution/promotion costs in sales ... break even).How do we decide when self production/DIY crosses the line over to Vanity? I would propose that any project that recoups, is not a vanity project. Not that I'm that saying everything that doesn't recoup is a vanity project, at some point it becomes a question of "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" ... or maybe it's more akin to pornography, you'll know it when you see it. At some point you have to struggle with the subjective question of whether it is art or not, the mere fact of self-production is insufficient to quantitatively pronounce anything as being a vanity project.(Another possible dividing line ... it's a vanity project when the engineer has to lie to you.)
