My best friend got a prom dress very similar to mine. Should I be upset?
My best friend and I got very similar prom dresses. They were the same shade of blue, and both had silver decorations. The differences were that mine had a beaded waistband while hers was made of silver flowers, and that mine was strapless (I added thin straps) with a shawl while hers had 1 strap, with the flowers following that rather than continuing around her waist.Was I upset? No way! I thought it was cool that we matched. It showed that we had very similar taste in dresses, especially since neither of us knew what the other one got until that day. I also like to think that our similar tastes showed how close we are. I was baffled by the people who made a Facebook group to coordinate dresses with everyone in the grade, although I could understand not wanting to have the exact same dress as someone you will be spending a lot of time with. As far as I was concerned, I was getting the dress I liked; if someone else got the same one, so be it.You shouldn't be upset. You should be happy that your friend has good taste in clothing, or, if she copied you on purpose, flattered that she thinks so highly of you and your fashion choices. You could also think of it as a sign of how close you two are: that you like similar dresses. You have a right to want a unique dress, but getting upset over it just ruins your friendship and keeps you from enjoying prom.

Can I wear a dress like this one (link) in 65 degree partly cloudy weather?
The dress is very similar to the one in this link, except it is a different design.
