Where Can I Get Help Filling In A Fafsa

Need help filling out my FAFSA, Home school vs. High school, Dual Credit course?

I am filling out my FAFSA and it wants me to fill in whether I was home schooled or attended high school. I'm not sure what to put because...

I attended public school from 1st grade to halfway through 11th. Due to medical issues I was very sick and could not attend my high school anymore, so I switched to a homeschooling program halfway through 11th grade and continued it for my senior year. Although it was a home school program, half my work was sent to me by mail, half were online courses. I was in communication with instructors online, and there were administrators and a principal who were in charge of grading, I also received a diploma and transcripts after completion. So it wasn't a home schooling like some where it is just their parents doing the teaching.

On the FAFSA application, if I put "home school" it just sends me to pick out colleges. If I click "High School Diploma" it wants me to put the name and location of my school, and although my home school does have an address, it does not come up as a school in the FAFSA database since it was more of an online/homeschool thing. So should I just put that I was homeschooled even though I have a diploma? Not sure what to do for that :/

And before I forget, for my senior English class, I took a Dual Credit online course for Literature, so should I count that as already having gone to college since I got college credits?

I need help filling out FAFSA?

No, put all 9's like this:
99999999
where their social security number should be.

Also, you can try to get them PIN numbers, but chances are they won't go through in a timely manner. After you submit your fafsa, select the "Print Signature Page" and have one of the folks sign the signature page and mail it to the address printed on the signature page. Waiting for a PIN for them will take ages and by doing this you can have it signed and mailed off the day you fill out the fafsa.

If you have any questions or problems I would suggest you call the FAFSA help line at 1-800-4FEDAID

When do I fill out FAFSA?

I'm currently a high school senior, trying to go to college & I tried to fill out the paperwork for FAFSA online and I was just wondering if I should like wait before I complete it? Like the questions were asking what I was going to be doing college wise in the 2015/2016 school year. What do I do? Do I just like not submit it if there's like an official day?

How do i fill out the FAFSA?

I was filling out the fafsa but i saved it because i needed my parents to do their taxes. The spot that I'm on is the income tax return. My real question is what do.i do? Should i put my mom down to make it seem like she's a single parent or put both? My parents do their taxes separately, i don't know why to be honest. Regardless if i were to put both, my parents don't make a lot of money. The man my mom did the taxes with told me to put her down as my only parent since she qualifies for low income rate something like that. He said this because it'll help me more with financial aid. Sorry if you don't understand thr question properly, i was in a rush to type this out.

What do I do to fill out the FAFSA? I’m 17 trying to go to college, I haven't taken the ACT, and my parents haven't done their taxes in years. I have no car, no job, no money, and my parents don't care and will not help me.

You will have to convince your parents to fill out the FAFSA. At 17 there’s really no way around that unless you:are marriedhave childrenwere in foster care or dependent or ward of the court after turning 13are an emancipated minor or someone else other than a parent/step-parent has legal guardian ship of you (this is Pamela B. Zohar’s suggestion, and probably the best way for you to become independent)are/were an unaccompanied youth and homeless, or self-supporting and at risk of being homelessIf any of the above apply to you, then FAFSA will consider you as an independent student and not take into account your parents’ financial circumstances (whatever they might be). If not, then FAFSA will consider you as dependent on your parents, regardless if your parents never file their taxes, and you file yours independently.https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/faf...People in your situation usually work their way through community college and then transfer to an affordable state university nearby. Some don’t go to college at all, and attend trade school instead. Others enlist in the military. All are solid life paths.

Moving out of state for school, FAFSA help?

I'm planning to move out of state (specifically to Florida) for school in the winter. I'll be completing my FAFSA form before moving in order to meet the states deadline. Is there a certain way to handle that? I mean there's nowhere to put a little sidenote of info for the FAFSA department to tell them hey, sure this is my current address, and yes im living with my dad right now, but when I go to school that's not going to be the case.
Also, on the school site the tuition listing for resident and non residents is of course much different. What determines that? If im coming from out of state, and I automatically considered a non resident? What if I were to apply AFTER moving? Would I then be a resident? I'm just confused on what determines resident and non res status...
I'm starting to get the feeling that I should put school off a semester or so, get down there and settles in, THEN do my applying, but I hadn't planned on having to do that.

Hope somebody can help! Thanks in advance!

Can an Indian student take help from FAFSA?

International students must use the International Student Financial Application. www.earlham.edu/media/1603082/2015-16%20International%20Student%20Financial%20Aid%20Application.pdf

What if i forgot to fill out my FAFSA?

There is no real date that's too late to fill out your fafsa...just priority deadlines which happens to be in June. Individual states also have deadlines, for what reasons I have no idea. If you are late on filling our your FAFSA, then that'd just be a little more time in processing your requests. I completely forgot to fill mine out during my Sophomore year of college, no big deal...it just took 2 weeks to get some dough. :)

hope that made you feel bettah.

Filing fafsa with amended 1040x tax return?

my parents too. But my aunt told me how to look at it. You will notice that the lines they tell u to look at will not match the lines in the 1040x. What you have to do is to align the corrections from the 1040x to 1040a. Meaning you need to find what changed..etc etc. Its not that bad.
And yes, I sent both 1040x and 1040a to colleges.
So relax, if you think u made a mistake. they will always have the documents to confirm your info.

How do I fill out a FAFSA form if I'm a US citizen living abroad?

How do I fill out a FAFSA form if I'm a US citizen living abroad?U.S. citizens are eligible for U.S. federal student aid regardless of where they live and regardless of whether their parents are U.S. citizens or not.If you file a U.S. federal income tax return, use that to complete the FAFSA. Otherwise, substitute the foreign income tax return, which is considered by the FAFSA to be the equivalent of IRS Form 1040. All financial figures should be converted into U.S. dollars using the exchange rate in effect on the date the FAFSA was filed or the most recent exchange rate prior to that date. Use the exchange rates that can be found on the Federal Reserve web site, Foreign Exchange Rates - H.10.If your parents are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents, use 000–00–0000 instead of a Social Security Number for them. They will need to print a signature page, sign and mail it.As a U.S. Citizen, you should have a Social Security Number. If your parents never filed SSA Form SS-5 to get you a Social Security Number, you will need to do so now. You will need to provide documents to prove age, identity and U.S. citizenship. Obtaining these documents, such as a birth certificate, can take time, so get started as soon as possible. You may need to schedule a meeting at the local U.S. embassy or consulate.Since you are a U.S. Citizen, you should be able to obtain a FSA ID to sign the FAFSA electronically. The main challenge will involve getting the forms to accept a foreign address. Otherwise, you will need to print, sign and mail the signature page.If you live in Mexico, Canada, a U.S. territory or a military installation, select the corresponding entry from the State menu. Otherwise, select “Foreign Country” and list your city and country in the field for City and enter 00000 in the Zip Code field.
