Can I use copyrighted music in my YouTube videos and enable monetisation?

No, not really. You are way ahead of yourself. To achieve a review of your channel to be approved for monetization you first need 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 total view-hours. Most channels can't build those numbers. If you use someone else's music in your videos, it will either be blocked by Content ID or given permission by the artist in exchange for all of the ad revenue. And this video won't count toward your view-hours.So you work against yourself by trying this.Even if your illegal use sneaks past detection, scores view-hours, and gets you to to the threshold for a review, now you're doomed. A YouTube employee watches all your content, looking for violations of the Community Standards. Including copyright infringement.Get music you have permission to use. How can I use songs in my YouTube videos legally?

EitherUse them within the Fair Use guidelinesPay to use them (them claiming your video and slapping ads on them falls under this, I guess)

How can I use copyrighted music in YouTube videos legally?

Heh, I've seen the actual music artists' YouTube pages get banned for infringement.

Here's what I use, you put it into the dispute form and after about a month it should show as successful:

"Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use."

Can you use Deadmau5 songs in your own YouTube videos?

Giving credit doesn't allow you to use the music. If you want to keep using it in a sneakier way, you could always change up the speed of the song so that it won't get noticed by the bots that detect copy righted songs. The only legit way is to get direct permission from the studio.

If you don't monetize your YouTube video, can you use anyone's copyright music?

In general, whether you’re monetizing or not doesn't matter: If the music isn't licensed for use in your video you shouldn't use it. Same goes for images, sound effects, fonts etc.Having said that, YouTube has a handy-dandy ‘music policies’ tool [1]where you can search for copyrighted music and see the policies that are in place for said music. Here you can see whether you can use the music, and if you can, under what conditions. The policies typically look like this:If you use this songPlaybackViewable worldwideMonetizationYou can't monetize your videoIf you include a song with these policies in your video, everyone can see it but you won’t be able to monetize it. (Pretty straightforward) But also, ads may also be placed on the video by the owner of the music. Some songs will look like this:If you use this songPlaybackViewable everywhere except GermanyMonetizationYou can't monetize your videoThere’s a licensing organisation in Germany called GEMA that has a strong say in what can and can’t be played in their region. It’s the reason that German viewers can’t watch YouTube livestreams; you could unexpectedly start jammin’ to some copyrighted music mid-livestream. Though this may not be of any concern to you if you don’t have a German audience.Other songs will look like this:This song is not available for use in your YouTube videos. If you use this song, your video may be blocked or muted.Clear and to the point.Without getting in contact with the music label and licensing the song - using this song in your video would result in some lackluster silence in your videos. This policy will often apply to newly-released songs and the policy may change later down the line.tl;drOnly if it is in the YouTube music policies and it states that it can be used.Footnotes[1] YouTube

How do people upload videos on youtube with copyright music?

I always see videos on youtube with music videos and videos of people with mainstream songs and they play fine. I tried to upload a video for a project with an old Buffalo Springfield "For what its worth" and it muted my whole video and said it was violation of copyright laws or something. Also my video was all choppy, anyone know about that either? Thanks

How come YouTube won’t play music when I connect the USB in a vehicle?

If you want to listen to the music you should convert the video to an audio only MP3 file. Apple QuickTime can do that for PC, iPhone, and a Mac. I don’t know about Android. If it’s the video you want to see I doubt you could make it work properly anyway The sound always seems to be out of synch with the video because the cars radio has to process it first. You can test the restriction of the driver safety feature mentioned earlier easily. Most cars will play a dvd video for example while the car is in park, but cuts off once the car is shifted out of park. If you are sitting in park you should be able to hear the audio. Look at the input settings on your radio. In addition to AM/FM Sirius/XM and Bluetooth, you should have a USB option. You can test this option by inserting a USB key that has MP3 music files on it.. if that works then unplug the key and plug in your phone and start the video. I’ll bet you see the video straight away but the audio will lag.
