Where Can I Start My Acting/modeling Career After High School

Where to start male modeling career?

I'm a 17 year old guy and I get my braces off next month. I'm over 5'11 (JUST under 6') and about 145-150 Ibs. I've been told by friends and family members that i could really do male modeling, which is something i'm VERY interested in. I'm just concerned about where I should start. I'm from Virginia and the only well know modeling agency around is Modeligic Wilhelmina. I don't know if i should go to one of their open calls, or if i should apply to one of the major modeling agencies in New York? If I were to sign with Modelogic, would i be able to apply to other agencies-or be able to cancel at Modelogic if I were "chosen" by another agency? I just want to make the right choice as to where i apply. And if i were "chosen" by an agency in New York, would i have to move there? or travel there a lot? Because I'm still in high school (Senior). OR if i were signed to an agency in New York, could I just start this summer after I graduate????? I really want to be a SUCCESSFUL male model. Sorry I have so many questions! Please share any other info that would be helpful! Thanks, guys!

How can anyone start her career in acting and modeling in Delhi if she just passed 12th class?

I had a dream of making my son a star and a fine actor; I searched all the institutes in India. Wasted lakhs on big institutes(we all know the names) and a lot of time. All the big names are just scams, and so is the Delhi theater circle. They all are just exploiting kids. Finally I came across one small yet amazing institute which is relatively new, called The Indian School of Acting. And trust me this is the best thing ever happened to me.There fees is very nominal and yet the training there which includes camera acting and theatre. They have a very strong network in the industry and helped my kids to get great work in films and web shows. The are very simple, no fancy websites or marketing. But it is a blessing that I found them for my son.Very less fees as compared to the scam institutes and training worth lakhs. Just train there for 6–12 months and you will be the best out there. The reason very less of us heard of them is that they don’t market themselves. It is located in Vaishali, ghaziabad. And I can’t thank them enough for making my son what he is today. And the best part was they didn’t loot us for such amazing quality training worth lakhs. The fees is lesser than 95% of the institutes. It is not free but fees is very less.So I recommend only these 3 institutes/ Theatre/ Acting classes in India.Ftii, pune - For film acting, high feesIndian School of Acting - For both film and theatre, very less feesNational School of Drama - For only theatre, no fees

How do you start an acting career at 14?

You can start by doing community theatre, acting classes, doing plays in school, or if you really want, you can pay an agency that will also teach you and get you auditions. I will say though, I would wait to get an agent until after you're out of school because if you get an agent now, you can get called for an audition and if you tell them that you can't go at that time because you have school, that will basically be the last you hear from the agent. You must also accept any role you get because when it comes to an acting career, there is no such thing as a small part. You also must never treat a theatre, such as school, any different than than how you treat any other place, even Hollywood. Every place you act is an equal chance of becoming spotted. I have been even in middle school theatre, and yes, I have seen people scouting for actors and actresses for pictures and plays.

How to start off an acting career at age 15?

The place to start is your high school. Try out for every theatrical program they have. Even if you don't get a part, volunteer to work on the crew. And find the nearest community theater and do the same there. Ask the directors privately if they think you have the talent to make a career of acting.

Your timetable is unrealistic. If you are already 15, it is very doubtful you can be on TV by age 16 or 17. The only way that could happen is to live in LA, be very talented, and have parents willing to give up their lives to take you around to auditions 12 hours a day.

Best of luck to you, but have a realistic goal of majoring in theater in college and then hitting the boards.
