Where could I find/make a chest binder? I'm sadly not able to buy one online, I'm still extremely closeted, I live in Australia where it costs quite a lot for shipping, and there isn't any support groups near me. Any suggestions would be appreciated?

the sad truth about binding is that it really is dangerous so all those expensive brands are the safest away to go as the material they use is probably the best. aliexpress makes cheap ones but the material is usually wrong, and they tag it for girls or tomboys so i don’t really know if they know what they’re talking about. there’s a bunch of DYI’s on the net for making binders but again, no right materials so no gurantee it won’t harm you. there’s a couple techniques to hide your chest that don’t involve binders, like double sports bra or so- but i can’t say how well they work for different sizes. if shipping costs more than traveling you could see which is the lesser evil, and either buy one or travel to a support group that has ones. i don’t really know much about support groups having binders though, i’ve heard that some people bring some in america and all, but not here so can’t say about australia either. good luck.

FtM Binders? Underworks?

I have the Double Front Compression Shirt (Style 997), and I have a 38DD chest. This binder works really well for me. The only complaint people have had with this particular binder is that because of the length, it tends to roll up. You can usually tuck it in to avoid this.

Personally speaking, I tend to pull the bottom half of the binder up to double up the amount of compression I have. If I don't do this, my breasts tend to shift forward. I don't recommend this for everyone, however.

I'm planning on purchasing the Extra Power Compression Vest (Style 980) when I have the spare cash, and probably layering it with the binder I already have.

I'm posting links to my blog entry on binding, and a great binder review site. If you need to answer questions on sizing, there's directions on how to measure yourself right on the Underworks site. Good luck!

Im going into middle school, how many binders should i have?

Just one trapper keeper binder should do(the one that zips up and can have like a section for every class, and a few pockets)
something like this:

I needed a 2' binder for math too, but don't worry about that until you've met your teachers and know about specifics. And if you have a locker it really helps to have locker shelves:

You don't have to get the double ones just one will work. It helps separate your backpack and bags from your books and binders, and trust me it helps A LOT more than you'd think.
And if you need to find something cute to wear go to http://forever21.com
(they have better stuff than the store) or you can go to Wet Seal, some of there stuff is weird, but they have some really really cute stuff. I'm in 7th grade, so I know that 6th grade usually seems like a big deal, but its not that special :( its just school. But have fun and be social! Good Luck!

How do you know if your binder is a good fit? Mine isn't too tight, doesn't pinch or pull, but doesn't seem to have the same compression as the double sports bra method I was using before, I have to wear a bra under it, and it feels like a tee shirt.

Without knowing the brand or any sizing info (chest size, etc.), I can only guess, but to me it sounds like it might be too big. A professionally made binder should compress better than the double sports bra method, and they shouldn’t be loose enough to feel like a T-shirt.Other reasons could be that it’s defective or it’s the wrong type of binder for your particular chest size/shape, both of which I’ve experienced personally.

How can I hide my chest without a binder?

I use a combination of different methods.First: sports bras. Sports bras are your friend. I have a fairly large chest, but I’m able to hide it with a single sports bra in most circumstances. I’ve read dozens of accounts of double-layering sports bras, one forward and one backward, but I can’t attest to its use myself.Baggy shirts. If I want to hide my chest while wearing a tighter shirt, I have to bind. But when I’m wearing a baggy shirt, I can get by with a single sports bra. Mind, this doesn’t mean wear a shirt so large you’re swimming in it, because that isn’t a good look on anyone.Dark shirts. All of mine are black. Why? It helps hide any shadows created by your bust… er, busting out.Hoodies. I like to leave mine unzipped and I still pass pretty well, but the real point of a hoodie for me is to hide my sides. A pull-over hoodie works just as well, but it’s easier to get overheated in these, in my opinion.Slouch. Your back will hate you, but it works.Best of luck!

Which Underworks Binder binds better?

I already have a rather flat chest (32A), so binding is not hard. But I am also very skinny and I get the appearance of pecks with my current, when my arms don't match. I am currently using the 996, and it does a pretty good job, but I'm wondering if any of the other styles have better binding power. I am only concerned with binding power, and not the style.
