Where Would I Be Considered On The Political Spectrum

What side of the political spectrum are the Federalist and Democratic-Republican parties on?

Obviously, the political spectrum has changed since Hamilton and Jefferson's days, but I need a little help with the modern perspective of the two parties.

I asked some people in my class about their thoughts on the issue, and most of them believed that the Federalist Party would be considered centre-left in today's spectrum and of course the opposing Democratic-Republicans would be on the right side as a result.

Fascism on the Left Side of Political Spectrum?

Nazism and Fascism are left-wing ideologies, because they both are statist in orientation. Nazi's were eugenicists ( abortion ), gun-control, animal rights ( believe it or not ). Stalin and the news media have re-written history 180 degrees just as happened with segregation. The American Right wants the least government control necessary, as stated in the Constitution, not central control of the economy and people's lives like the left craves.

Where is Sweden on the political spectrum?

They are considered Social democrats that means left wingers, they have free education, free health care and they believe in big government. However they are not considered extreme left like Cuba and Venezuela because they are part of the European Union, which is an Economic Union and part of the believe of Capitalism of Free Trade.

They are considered the very few successful left wing governments in the world.

Which answer choice would be considered on the “far-left” of the political spectrum?

A2A. You really can’t expect anyone to properly answer your question without giving any context for what you’re talking about. Also: the U.S. political spectrum is so drastically right-skewed that we’ve got people who insist that our last President was “far-left.” So it’s kind of meaningless, in the bargain.

What side of the political spectrum does Keynesian economics fall under?

What side of the political spectrum does Keynesian economics fall under? And how extreme is it relative to it's political characterization? Also, is a Keynesian economy that of a mixed economy?

In view of political spectrum, is 'Islamic State' positioned as extreme left-wing or extreme right-wing?

Right wing approach is to favor individual rights, that's why they are often labeled as selfish, because they firmly believe that personal and individual rights can not be abrogated simply to satisfy the needs of the collective.Left wing's approach is to favor collective rights, they will be Ok in suppressing certain individual rights for the greater good. That's why they often slip into authoritarian form of government.ISIS is an organization that is seeking to bind mankind in common action and common thought, under the Caliphate with Islam as its Official religion. So IMHO, What ISIS preach and practice is nowhere near both ideologies, is not an ideology, is not even philosophy, is the primitive way of thinking that predates the very origin of our modern civilization, before Plato, Descartes, Archimedes, Aristotle before the first philosopher that brought the notion of Reason and Logic. What ISIS preach is the Anti-Thesis of Civilization, what they do is not in the realm of Reason or Logic, that's why you can't even reason with them.Right-wing or Left wing, despite all their differences, people in both political spectrum seek to improve and evolve mankind, with argument and debate, and when there is a perfect balance between both ideologies we can achieve a fair society that works for everyone. What ISIS preach will not work for everyone, specially for women. So you can't place them in any of these ideologies, and people who are trying to pin ISIS to this or that ideology, they are just playing bad politics and firing cheap shots against other people or group.

In the modern day political spectrum, would Alexander Hamilton be considered a liberal, conservative or libertarian?

Interesting question. I think in terms of today’s politics, he would be the strangest of all combinations: a “big government conservative.”Carrying a big debt wouldn’t bother him, although the numbers today are so astronomical in comparison to his time, he might raise his eyebrows. Also, it wouldn’t bother him that after 200+ years, the rights of states gradually eroded and that the federal government has become so powerful. One of the major goals he and his fellow Federalists had, in proposing the Constitution, was to make the USA into a military power that could beat back England or France, should either ever contemplate invasion.Today we have the greatest, best trained, best equipped, most intimidating military armed force, by far, than any force in the history of the world. That would meet with Hamilton’s approval. But Hamilton and John Adams both believed that having a wealth requirement for voting would be a good thing. That was probably the single biggest difference in political philosophy between them and Jefferson. To that extent, Hamilton would be a supporter of the modern Republican Party’s efforts to suppress the vote among poor and minority voters.

I took a political spectrum test and it said I am a Neoliberal Democrat, but?

My result was "Trotskyist". The test uses European political terms. "Neoliberal" means you are in favor of free market capitalism and economic globalization. Most American conservatives are.

I also don't get why you think "Christian" is a political view.

Where on the political spectrum is the Libertarian Party?

Radical? Liberal? Moderate? Conservative? Ultra-conservative?
(From left to right)

This is just for a school project. I was looking on their website and they seem conservative?
