Which Compartment Of Political Life Would The Demands Of European Feminists Fall

What are some double standards of modern feminism?

“You educate a man; you educate a man. You educate a woman; you educate a generation.” (Seriously?)Only women get to sit, at any time of the day. Men do not have a say here, even if they are old, crippled, weak, or dead.Unless you are elderly, handicapped, injured or pregnant, what makes you think you deserve the seat more than a man does? I rarely see a woman getting up and offering her seat to anybody. If women should not be caretakers by default then courts should also stop looking favorably at them in divorce cases. No feminist voice speaks against women getting lighter sentences than men for the same crimes? You boldly demand equal pay but never mind getting into colleges through reservations or enjoy other benefits given for women only?“My body, my choice.” And at the same time you expect your boyfriend/husband to have a particular physique?A women can reject a guy if he’s short, fat, bald and that is her choice as a strong independent women. But if a guy rejects a women because she is too fat or not attractive enough then he is an a**hole as he should be liking the women for who she is not based on her looks or body type.First-come-first-serve is a myth. Women need separate queues everywhere, because they are fighting for equality. Men don’t get to complain, because hey, men have all the time in the world. They can wait a few extra hours. So much unemployment in the country anyway! How is this equality in any sense? Women get to stand in a separate queue for certain reasons, AGREED. But I believe that the first-come-first-serve policy should be implemented on parallel lines.NOTE: I know not all feminists are the same and not all feminists have the same views but you can not deny that these double standards still exist. I'm not hating on women for advocating equal rights, but when doing so results in the loss of the rights of men.

Why is there so much negativity surrounding feminism?

I feel disturbed by the gross dishonesty with which some prominent feminist Quorans seem to answer this question. While it’s true that some men oppose feminism because they feel it disrupts their position of privilege, it’s not the only one why feminism is criticized.I used to be a critic of feminism and I still think the reasons I opposed feminism are valid. Here they areThose who oppose feminism, believe that feminism does not represent men. When a woman is abused by a male partner, the law is quick to step in. When a man is abused, he is made fun of. How is that gender equality? Those who oppose feminism have never seen feminists protect men. In fact, they see feminism as a movement designed to oppress men.Feminism gets confused and munged together with chivalry. As a chivalrous man, you are told to be nice to women. Always hold her doors. Always pay for her date. Fulfill all of her demands. As a feminist man, you are told to never hit a woman. Always get her consent first. Well, does that mean a man is basically a woman’s doormat?People opposing feminism for this reason, aren’t told that chivalry and feminism are antithetical to each other.Popular media depicts the men as disposable. The draft during Vietnam war was meant only for men. When the Titanic sunk, only the women and children were sent to life-boats. Numerous TV shows, commercials and movies normalize violence against men, especially those committed by other women. Many of it are even subject to comedy. If a woman is on the receiving end of violence, the story is different. Men in these examples are expendable. They are fungible commodities of which there could be less of.As far as I’ve seen, it’s only a matter of communication. Feminism is simply a political movement and all political movements are going to be opposed by those they choose not to represent.

Is it wrong to teach my boys to be a gentleman with women (opening doors for them, paying for dinner, always protecting them, etc.)? It seems that being a courteous man is frowned upon by liberal feminists.

Women don’t want that courtesy anymore. They call it “ sexism". It was all a facade, ladies. Men wanted to feel like they could GIVE a little protection, could feel like they were a tiny bit “ in charge" ( while even THEY knew who the “ boss" REALLY was ) but ladies wouldn’t give them that smallest satisfaction, no way! There really IS sexism ..no one knows it better than me. But there are gentlemen who open doors NOT because they feel a woman is incapable, but because they want to treat her like a queen. But oh no! Can’t have THAT! Now the men (most of them ) said FINE ! “I'll let you open the door for ME then.” Real gentlemen never disputed the power of women, but they just wanted a little semblance of power. REAL gentlemen. I've known men who wanted the money just to pay the bill at checkout. They KNEW I could pay, why would they NEED to pay? Why would I read into that as “ being undermined”? They see it as part of the manhood role to pay, to walk on the outside of the sidewalk, to open a car door. Good grief, why strip it away? Then women will ask “ where are the men, anymore"? “ why can’t I be pampered or be made to be special once in a while"? You've kind of tied the man’s hands there. Your capable. Make YOURSELF feel so special !There are truly strong women who realize their strengths without the need of men to do NOTHING for them. My opinion is yes, to teach them how to treat a lady special, in the ways you've mentioned. Show them all the great capacity of good, strong women ..to teach them to respect women as equal. But even Wonderwoman would like the door opened for her. NOT because she is incapable, heck, she could lift up the whole car! But because it feels good to have a man who cares to make her feel special.Ladies had to fight hard for their rights, I know that. I've been in those marches myself. But they took it in territories that ended up killing something for THEMSELVES as well. I've seen and heard that result, too. Just my opinion.
