Which Drumset Is The Best

What are some of the best drum sets to get?

I am going to buy my sister a drum set I need to know what are some good suggestions? She likes drums.I just have no clue what to get her.She does not have any.She plays them at her friends.

What is the best drum set to buy?

I am looking to get into playing drums and need advice on what drum set to buy. IS an acoustic set better than an electronic? what are the pros and cons of each. just from personal experience what do you think is the best drum set and the price?

What is the best color for a drum set?

I have a black set and a red set of Pearl Master series. The black seems to look good on stage. It really makes the chrome jump out. Also white drums seem to pick up the stage lighting more. Some of the custom finishes look great up close but from the audiences view of the stage not so great. It's hard to beat black for stage appeal.

Best type of drums for hard rock/metal?

OK brand doesnt really matter. seriously. ive seen metal drummers play on all sorts of brands. for metal drumming, its going to depend more on the size of the drums, and the skins, sticks, and cymbals that you choose to go along with it. you will want at least standard size drums (12,13,16" toms, 22-24" bass) with some single ply heads. the larger the drum, the lower the tone you will get. and metal tends to have the deep sounding drums. this is why sizing is FAR more important than brand. as for wood, maple is most often used by metal drummers because it is warm and deep. birch is harder, and will give you a brighter tone. the single ply heads are preferable for metal as well. you'll want some heavier sticks in order to increase the volume, and you'll probably want some nice, loud cymbals. something that will cut through the sound of the other instruments. again, cymbal brand doesnt matter. has more to do with the sizing, type of metal, and the line from any particular brand.

so, like i said. dont get too hung up on what type of brand your looking for. in the end, each drummer has a different setup, and anyone can make any setup work for almost any style of music. your best bet is to go to a store and hit a few drums and see which you like best. one of the cool parts about being a drummer is being able to customize your setup and make it unique to you. so follow the guidelines i provided above, and that should help you narrow down your options.

good luck! if you want more help, feel free to email me from my profile page. just make sure you include a budget if you want some specific suggestions.

What is the best drum set up for rockabilly?

A typical rockabilly configuration uses the minimal possible hardware and relies on the player's expression to create diversity in sound. If you're going for total authenticity a stand-up configuration is the most appropriate and therefore a likely candidate would be Yamaha's Club Jordan Cocktail Drum System.

Typical configuration with a stand-up kit would be 1 kick/tom, snare, fixed hats and cowbell. The kick is also the floor tom (look at the picture on Yamaha's website, you'll get the idea). A typical snare would be Tama's hammered steel shell "Soprano". This kind of configuration could also translate to a conventional kit and would work equally well (although you would of course have to add a tom and the kick would be the usual, lower sound).

Hope this helps. :-)
