Which Fish Is The Fastest

What is the fastest fish?

If the majority of sources out there are to be believed, it is the Sailfish[1], with a top speed of about 110kmph (68 mph).(Image credits:- Lazer Horse)These fish are definitely fast leapers and are likely one of the fastest fish at swimming short distances.Sailfish can grow to about 10 feet long. These slim fish can weigh up to about 128 pounds. Their most noticeable characteristics are their large first dorsal fin (which resembles a sail) and their upper jaw, which is long and spear-like. Sailfish have blue-gray backs and white undersides.Sailfish are found in temperate and tropical waters in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. They feed primarily on small bony fish and cephalopods.(Source credits:- These Are the World's 6 Fastest Fish)However, there are a few things that must be kept in mind while discussing the speed of fishes. It isn't exactly easy to measure the top speeds of swimming creatures, and they can only be roughly calculated on basis of visual imaging. Not all sailfishes have the capacity to reach that top speed, and the top speed is a generalized number taking into account a lot of factors. The given top speed can’t be maintained by it at all times. Sailfishes swim at a speed of 25kmph (16mph) on an average while casually moving around.Footnotes[1] Sailfish - Wikipedia

What is the fastest way to kill a Betta fish?

very quick death from a quick blow is actually a lot more humane than wasting away with dropsy. Dropping it in really cold water will shock it, but isn't likely gonna kill a betta. its just adding to his misery.

If you can put it somewere that you can be sure that when you hit it, you will hit the head, than that can work, it is how many many food fish are killed.
Many believe that if you put a fish in a container of its tank water "at its current temperature" into the freezer. That the fish can not sense the slow change in temperature. It is believed that they slowly get tired and then fall asleep, and then die, all long before they start to freeze.

Sorry about your fish, glad that your are trying to help ease his pain.

How can fish swim so fast?

Most swimming in fish is the result of the muscles on the sides of their bodies. You might not ever have thought about how you walk or run, but what you are doing is pushing off the ground with your foot to move you forward. Fish use the muscles on the sides of their bodies to push against the water in a similar manner to swim. muscular tails for direction and push -swim bladder for buoyancy helps them adjust whether they sink, float to the top, or keep going straight. When the muscles on the right side of the fish contract, the tail is pulled to that side of the body, which pushes water backwards, propelling the fish forward through the water. Then the muscles on the right side relax, and the left side contracts, pulling the tail the other way, and this cycle is repeated over and over to produce thrust. Because of this Fish can swim so fast.

What is the fastest swimming ocean fish?

Clocked at speeds in excess of 68 mph, some experts consider the sailfish the fastest fish in the world ocean. Easily recognized, sailfish are named for the spectacular sail-like dorsal fin that extends for nearly the entire length of their silver-blue body. Additionally, the sailfish's upper jaw is far longer than its lower jaw, forming a distinctive bill that looks like—and sometimes acts like—a spear.Often working together in groups of two or more, swift sailfish thrash at and disrupt schools of smaller fish such as sardines and anchovies, thus allowing each sailfish to more easily snag its meals. The sailfish's spear-like bill also comes in handy for slashing at larger prey fish, which stuns them into submission. Together, sailfish engage their huge dorsal fins, creating a fence around their prey to prevent their victims from escaping their clutches.

How can i make my oscar fish grow faster?

Water quality and food is what he needs. Bloodworms are OK at the start, but as he grows they will just be a snack. When they are small you can feed them often, 3 or more time a day, but only what they will actually eat. Watch them closely, they will still try and eat when they are full, but they will have to spit it out again, or it overflows through their gills. Gets messy quick if you overfeed.

Good cichlid pellets as a base diet, then krill, shrimp, bit of raw fish, earthworms, crickets and even a bit of beefheart will get them growing.

Yes you will need the double filtering and LOTS of water changes. All that food is going to increase the nitrate level in the tank, and while it may not kill them it lowers their appetite and general health.

Yes they should grow an inch per month when they are young, and slow down when they mature at 8" or so.

Dirftwood is fine, it may stain the water brown, but it wont harm the Oscar.

They are NOT brackish species, pet shops my temporarily house them with brackish species, but it's the brackish fish they are keeping in fresh water, not the other way around.

You know you will need a bigger tank in about 6 months right?

What is a fast small freshwater fish?

The fastest one is a zebra danio they get around 1.5-2 inches and are light blue with stripes horizontal. They are pretty easy to care for they require a 20g tank minimum (long tanks preffered) and it should be cycled you need at least 5 they school and sometimes seperate. They prefer tropical water at 76F and they are hardy fish so they are tough.

Neon tetras are schooling fish but not as fast as zebra danios, and tetras are sensitive and need an established tank so danios are better.

Also dont get any sharks they get big even if they are small at the store. The common sharks at stores are bala sharks red tailed shark and rainbow shark they get big and require a 55 gallon tank so no sharks.

Minnows are another good choice but they are small only like an inch and a half. They can stand cold temp at 66F anything below and you will need a heater but only if where you live its cold. If you want minnows get white cloud mountain innows and you wiol need 5 as they school but need to be in a tank with other fish that can stand cold water ok.

Another choice is rasboras they are not that fast but are not slow either. There are many but the most common are harlequin and red eye but get harlequins they are small only get to 1.5 inches and are schooling fish so get 5 and. They need a 20g tank cycled with 76F

Dont get all these ok when I say get 5 it means minimum ok only choose one according to how big your tank is okay.
