What is the difference between a TFT monitor and a LED monitor?
A TFT means ThinFilmTransistor which may refer to an ordinry LCD screen. Both the TFT and LED displays are made of LCD, but the difference only comes in the backlightig. LCD/TFT uses CCFL(cool compound fluroscent lamp) while the other uses LED to backlight. Comparing to TFT LED cosumes less poewr as u know the poweer consumption of LED is much less than that of a CFL. Also the arrangement of CCFL would be in an array behind the screen to illuminate uniformly. This makes it consume more power. In the case of LED monitors LEDs are placed alongside the eges of the screen.This would result in some drawback(Probably the only one)Sometimes the edges are more illuminated than the edges. Also you may think that they uses white LEDs, but they are using blue LEDs with a phosphorous coting to make it looks like white. The change in the composition of this coating results in varying colour tone for various companies display.A beter exmple I have noticed is DELL INSPIRON and SONY VAIO laptops. Why use multiple computer monitors?
Some people who would prfer purchasing a powerful system that can multitask like a stock broker who has his own firm can use the same system to open two to three broking page on the same system to monitor the market from different broking software use (stocks fluctuate fast )does not have time to ALT+TAB 1.they can give you same or extended display 2.In the case of EXTENDED the 1 monitor will have left to center the other will have center to right 3.The para above (games and other designers ue it too ) but i have a stock broker use it 4.you can use a slitter or if your graphics card support dual display it will have ports Just good to know info there is one that has 16 display ports its used in airforce monitoring system
