What is the most painful thing in world?
I've had my share of pain and will always live in pain the rest of my life. Some of my injuries.Concussion-Have had 3, level 3 concussions. (Worst possible concussion).Compound fractures- 2 broke my arm.snapped my left arm .Broke my wrist. Snapped . Left arm was excruciating, because of the large bone.Torn Roto cuff - Pain not too severe, but very long to healCalf muscle torn in half. Excruciating, had to crawl to bathroom for about 2 months. Took 6 months to fully healRuptured ACL- Pain not bad. Surgery and rehab not bad.Torn Achilles- More pain than ACL, longer recovery. Not to bad a week after surgery.Ruptured L5– Excruciating, 2 guys had to help me get up, tough surgery and about 2 months recovery. First week after surgery was hard.Diverticulitis-10″ of intestines removed. Stomach staples. Pain not too bad. Developed Mercer, Dr. Cut stomach in office. 3 months with hole in stomach, clean 3 times a day. Not too badHerniated stomach- Installed mesh, 4 weeks. Not too badFractures- ankle, knee, left arm(6 times) right hand, right wrist, fingers. Pain is sore till they set and cast it. So, not that badNail through finger-Nail gun, hurt pulling it out. Wasn't bad except for thatKidney stones,-3 times. Hurt when passing through small intestines. Not to badHerniated discs C4,C5,T7, hurts when the pinch nerves. Chiropractic treatment helps. More of a annoying painWorst pain- Car accident suffered injury to brain stem, permanent nerve damage. Very debilitating, hard to work. Wake up throughout the night from arms,legs, shoulders, everything pretty much hurts.Nerve endings affected severely. Not just physical pain, but the mental part is just horrible.The worst pain because it never stops.Some days are just better than others,but never pain free.Just my opinion. Truthfully, any type of pain is severe in its own way. It's how you deal with it, that's the hardest.
What is the most important thing in life?
A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat.""Is the man of the house home?", they asked."No", she replied. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?"The old men replied together:"If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever he goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success !!"
What does "the more things change the more they stay the same" mean?
its true what most people have said...but i'll also add my bit which is: It is a statement to highlight the IRONY in life that no matter how much we think we've progressed, we're pretty much where we started (sort of an underlying tone of futility to everything, or purposelessness). For instance, we have so many computers after the guy who invented it, said it would never be required to produce computers en masse, nowadays we know the score... Also, we are supposed to have moved towards a paper free society, after all, we can text or email or probably even telepathically order our thoughts, yet, a WILL and Testament is only recognized in WRITING with a signature to it... or when we sell or buy a car / home, we still have to sign papers and keep a copy for "safety's sake". Maybe one day we'll be able to do all these things online and it'll be recognized as valid by law? We still have a post office, which we had in days of old, we had letter bearers thousands of years ago, not much has changed... We're supposed to have more time on our hands because half our lives are remote controlled, but it seems we have less time to talk and get to know the people up our own street. In the olden days, people had a longer life span cause life was slower paced, and they still got things done?! So, some people take the view that, the more things change, the more they stay the same...essentially though, we merely go through cycles of progress, in really primitive days, men were the "breadwinners" or providers in society, and women the homemakers...nowadays, statistics prove men are emotionally weaker than females and they tend to have a higher suicide rate / nervous breakdown rate etc. more women work...perhaps the focus has sharply shifted to females empowerment? but then there's the new era of kids and how they abuse their rights to manipulate things in society, their education, teachers who are restricted in disciplining them, parents who either lack the know how or skill to discipline their own kids (how MANY are the programmes on tv "supernanny" and the like, that show that some kids destroy entire families and then the parents sit by helpless and at a loss for things to do to "repair" the problem they had indirectly caused...) oh well, i could write an entire book on this one irony alone, but, for now, i'll go and get some tea
Why can't men focus on more than one thing?
Is there something in the male brain that prevents us from thinking about people while doing something? I have trouble thinking about my girlfriend when I'm playing a video game, or watching TV, or doing work. We have a healthy relationship, the only downside is that it's long distance. Don't get me wrong, we talk for 8+ hours a day, and we fall asleep together on Webcam, so I give her attention. She's looking for more "Passion" and "Romance", obviously that's hard to do in a long distance relationship, but she's looking for things like "Why don't you tell me you want to hold me, or be in my arms, or look into my eyes and tell me you love me?" I'm trying to explain to her that guys are different, and it doesn't mean I don't love you, or I don't want those things, it's just we're single-minded. So what I'm really looking for is a biological explanation for my behavior. I'm willing to work on the problem though, I'm not a jerk :P
Can you go to a doctor for more than one thing at a time?
You can go to your Dr for everything at one time. Most people are like you, however. We generally just go to the Dr for what is bothering us at the time but you can get everything taken care of at one time, that way you have only one copay ;o) Get all your questions taken care of and yourself taken care of in one or 2 visits, depending on what is wrong with you. Why is money the most important thing in life?
Money is the least understood commodity in the world. Useless books and books have been written about money , it has been given names such as finances, funds and so on. Universities have given higher degrees but all these miss the point when it comes to money. Why is money important? Money is important because it is the least understood subject.The basic and most important definition of money is that it is the medium of exchange. I have created goods and or services or manufactured something of value that i have in excess and in order to get something i need, i have to exchange it with something . Now what do nations do because of misunderstanding what money is, they rush to the printing press to print some money for sell to poor nations and rob them of their gold and resources or worse still give it to them in the name of charity. What do cheap people do to get it, sell useless things and natural resources including prostitution just to get money. Money is not important if you can provide or create all you want on your own.The Bible is indeed correct when it says money is the root of all evil, because there is no more understanding of money as medium of exchange. The focus is now on money as an end not as a means to an end. The idea of nations manufacturing weapons of mass destruction missiles and the like is simply to gain the advantage to rob other nations and get cheap resources when printed money is failing to do that or where we have nothing of beneficial use to exchange with those nations.Money is not important, it is what you do to get it that is important. Is what you are doing in changing lives for the better? Is what you are doing giving or taking away lives? Money is important when it is a reward for doing something good to creation. It is not necessary when you can live comfortably and can provide for yourself without the need to turn to others for what you don’t have.I believe , the use of money will eventually fail and some other means of exchange will have to be found and we are nearly there.
I can't concentrate on two or more things at a time. What are the disadvantages of this?
It is routinely said that men can't multi-task, but it turns out that women can't either, they are just much more adept at switching between tasks.Women can’t multitask either - The Times of IndiaI find it amazingly difficult to type and listen to my gf talking! I just don't hear what she said. I have to turn the radio down to either text or answer the phone if I'm a passenger in the car. I lose my place in a book if someone asks me a question. I forget what happened on TV if I hear the people in the flat upstairs.Entirely frustrating, but something I live with every day.What is the disadvantage? If a lot of things are happening around me, I generally lose focus on all of them, and it turns into a mish-mash of sound and colour. Not good! I have to concentrate really hard on cutting out the things I do not want to focus on, rather than concentrating on the thing I want to. I never hear more than one conversation at a time, and if I try to listen to two, I never hear more than half of either!Advantages? When I do concentrate, nothing can disturb me! I don't notice getting hungry, I don't notice the cat prowling around (until it sits on my laptop, haha!), I don't notice people talking. It is all consuming. I get heaps done. As a Buddhist, this level of concentration is supposed to be very good when combined with being relaxed and alert.The main thing I try to be aware of is to let people know that I have that sort of way of concentrating. My gf knows this now, and although it is annoying for her, she understands that when I stop and listen to her, she has my undivided attention.
