Best dog breed for a 13 year old?
HI!! I'm 13 too, going to be 14 on the 10'th in like 3 days!! Anyway, I have a dog of my own, she is a mix between a German Shepherd and Great Dane! She is a REALLY SUPER GREAT dog and I love her so much! Anyway, I don't know of many one-person dogs beside Chows and stuff but I might be able to help with all the other things! 1. A dog that has regular energy would probably be a Great Dane or English Mastiff type breed. They can be really big couch potatoes or really great athletes!! <3 2. Some dogs that are known for swimming are Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and Newfoundlands!! Great Danes sometimes like to swim too!! 3. Some one person dogs can be American Pit Bull Terriers, Chow Chows, etc., 4. For the sturdy, compact dogs I would recommend Rottweilers and Golden Retrievers!! 5. There isn't really any dog that doesn't like adventure so whatever you get as long as it isn't shy or timid will probably be very adventurous!! 6. Easy grooming would probably be short-haired dogs such as Labradors, Rottweilers, and Pit Bulls. The Golden Retriever isn't very hard to groom. :) 7. Any dog can be left for 2-3 hours without dying as long as hey have something to do, have food and water, and can go potty when it needs to! 8. German Shepherds and Border Collies are very trainable but are also very clingy and desire to be by their owners at ALL times! This would not be a good dog for you as they will cry for hours if separated fro their owners. Again, I recommend the Golden Retriever! 9. Golden Retrievers love being outdoors! Try a cat. Never barks and a big cats only about 16/20lb. And it walks it's self.Other than that theres hundreds of small breeds out there. I have a pomeranian and a shih tzu. Both which would bark if I had not learned them not to. All dogs bark,you have to train them not to and keep them busy and not leaving them on there own too much. Little dogs are companion dogs so don't like to be on there own a lot.
