What's the difference between a residential school and a boarding school?
They are essentially the same thing. Boarding school simply implies that it is not a college (typically a middle or high school) where the students live there. Boarding schools have dorms but they will have a slightly different setup.... it's usually much more homelike than a typical college dorm I went to boarding school and we had someone who was a "Houseparent," where they would assign their own rules for their particular dorm, and then had to adhere to the school's policies as well. My Houseparent had three children. So we, the students had our dormrooms (either 2 people per room, or single rooms), and my Houseparent would have an apartment upstairs with 2 floors, so she and her husband could live there and raise their kids. The houseparent is the one who keeps everyone in check in the dorm.... so it was important to know the houseparents and pick the right dorm based on which houseparent suited you best. I had one through my 4 years of high school, I lived in the most lenient girls' dorm and mine wasn't overly strict College dorms on the other hand, have an RA (Residential Assistant) who is usually a upperclassmen student at the school, who is expected to supervise the dorm. They are usually paid a small stipend to be an RA, resolve any issues between students in the dorm. They have a regular dormroom like everyone else, typically

there are some that exist like the one on zoey 101 but not by any beaches. i used to go to one that you had quite a lot of free time and there was a lounge. the school wasn't excatly like zoey 101's, but then again zoey 101 is a show. by the way boarding schools aren't the same as home. i dont go to one anymore because i missed home too much.
