Which player do you think was too good to warm the bench in IPL 2018?

I know the answer asks for only 1 player, but I have some free time in my hand. So I’m listing a playing XI of bench warmers. In my case, bench warmer doesn’t mean the entire season, but for a major chunk of the tournament.Murali Vijay: A good T20 opening batsman who couldn’t play because Rayudu was in the form of his life.Gautam Gambhir(c): Another good batsman and also a great captain. He opted to sit out and never came back.Manjot Kalra: One player I was excited to see playing for DD. But DD’s batting line-up was so good that he never got to play. By the way, he scored a century in the final of the U19 World Cup.Heinrich Klaasen(wk): A good wicket keeper and a great power hitter. Came as a replacement to Steve Smith, but didn’t get ample opportunities.David Miller: An awesome player just in his bad form.Naman Ojha: With Rishabh Pant being so good, he never got a chance to play for his home team.Mohammed Nabi: One of the best all-rounders at present. Unfortunately, got to play only two matches for SRH.Bipul Sharma: Also a good all-rounder.Jayant Yadav: A great spinner and a decent batsman.Mohammed Shami: The leader of this bowling line-up. But injuries have kept him on and off the tournament.Chris Jordan: A good bowler to finish things off. Most of these players are from Delhi Daredevils, a team that has a good bench strength, but still finished last.

Why are NBA bench players put into the game at the start of the second quarter of many games?

Coaches work to establish a regular "rotation", where players become accustomed to starting play at a regular time in the game. It's easier for everyone to prepare when there's a routine, continuity and familiarity.

Why do NBA players put T-shirts on when they go to the bench?

As Leyhna mentioned, preserving body temperature is a reason, but I'd like to go more in depth. Full court basketball is an extremely athletic sport requiring you to sprint often. Players on the bench are usually drenched in sweat. The function of sweat is to cool the body. Without the shirt, the player would be very cold.Try running a mile on a cold day. You're hot and sweaty by the end. Try sitting down. Your sweat will change from body temperature to the outside temperature and you will be very cold in minutes.

Have you ever played against an NBA bench-warmer? How’d you do against him?

In 2001 - 2003, I played ball at Grand Rapids Community College. There were pick-up games every morning and most of the day. One of the guys that played there was said to have played for the Washington Wizards. This was a crap team at the time, and no one saw any reason someone would make it up. I guess one could say he was a “bench-warmer” and his career was short lived due to an injury. There was nothing remarkable about his game, or his appearance. He was probably 6′1″, black, wore warm-ups and old sweatshirt, but got up and down the court well. I had never asked about it, nor heard him talk about it. I'd just over hear people saying it, and/or busting his balls for being part of such a poor ball club. Well, one day, one of the not-so-frequent patrons was down there (known for getting in under people’s skin, in fact our teams had a physical altercation in the intermural league that resulted in both of our disqualifications) heard he played in the NBA, and started running his mouth immediately… I have never in my life saw a guy light up a court the way he did. He looked like Kevin Durant at the Rutgers. This was the only time I saw this kid shut his mouth. I felt bad for the kid even.I've always wondered what it would be like to play NBA caliber players. I've played against people who've played D-1, or overseas, or even D-League, who were just unstoppable. This one guy I played in a rec league with, had crazy handles and would bring the ball up, the ball up, go to the basket, and cuff the ball on his way up. He never missed the shot. No one could block it, he always got a foul called, it was impossible. Another guy that played in a community college league, looked Indian or something. He literally would pull up from half-court and splash out with people in his face. He was fast too! So he would leave you if you played up on him. Sometimes I think about these people and am in awe of just how good NBA players are.

How much should a freshman football player bench bench and squat?

Why do NBA players wear sweats when they're on the bench?

Full court basketball is an extremely active sport you sweat a lot. When you sweat a lot and then sit down, the sweat turns to room temperature which chills your body (what sweat is supposed to do) not to mention that players on the side are probably drinking ice cold Gatorade as well. Also, you aren't moving nearly as fast anymore (sprinting to each side of the court) so your body will naturally cool down. The temperature is perfectly fine to a fan, who might be in jeans and a shirt, with a jacket or sweater maybe. It is different when you are in the arena with a basketball jersey and basketball shorts. Two clothing items designed for efficient cooling and freedom of movement. As your body cools, legs may get pretty cold. Basketball players legs are obviously long and they contain some of the largest and most powerful (legs/back) muscle groups in our body. (What do we stand on all day?). Also, they are pretty far from the heart and organs, so they really have no reason to stay warm when we aren't active. So, you have a bunch of cold water on your legs. Not fun. Let's just wipe it off and put on some sweats!Edit:oh, another reason is to keep the muscles warm so they don't cramp. (I don't know the physiology behind it and I couldn't find a reputable resource to back me so don't quote me on that.)

In hockey, why does a player go to the bench right after he scored? Is it a rule? Or he goes to rest?

There is no rule that requires a player to go to the bench after scoring in any league. Most players go to the bench after scoring because there so tired from that play.
