Which Quote Should I Get For A Tattoo

If you could have any quote tattooed, what would it be and why?

First of all I am too scared of needles but if someday I am able to collect enough courage to actually get a tattoo it would be this -AHAM BRAHMASMI.AHAM BRAHMASMI- It means“I am Brahman"( not the caste)or "I am the Infinite Reality"or "I am the Ultimate".It is one of the four Mahavakyas used to explain the unity of macrocosm and microcosm.Literally, Aham (अहं) means "I", that which cannot be deserted or abandoned on account of being constant, unavoidable, ever present and Brahma (ब्रह्म) means ever-full or whole.Thank you for reading :)Source: Aham Brahmasmi - Wikipediaand Pinterest

When you get a tattoo of a quote, should you also have the name of its author tattooed with it, as well?

When you get a tattoo of a quote, should you also have the name of its author tattooed with it, as well?Short answer: no.If you feel the need, go for it. It’s extremely rare anyone asks me to include the source of a quote. A tattoo is not a term paper. There is no reason to leave a citation unless you want it.Less is more is a pretty good rule for tattoos.Bonus for not leaving the source: it opens up conversation about your tattoo in the future.

"Death was afraid of her because she had the heart of a lion."

and

"The longer the night lasts, the more our dreams will be."

How much would a quote tattoo cost?

It really all depends where you go, what font you use, what colours, if any, and how large the font is. I have one word on each of my wrists, one 4-letter word, and one 5-letter word, and they cost $75 each, not very large font, in cursive writing.

You could be looking at $100-$300. If you had a picture I could give you a better estimation. Your best bet would be to go to different shops with your idea and ask for estimates before deciding which shop you should get tattooed at.

Good luck!

Where should I get this tattoo?

I have a quote:

I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6 OR
Better judged by 12 than carried by 6

that I want to get tattooed. I'm a fairly small female and have no intention of getting a 'tramp stamp' on my lower back but can't really think of where else this quote might fit. I haven't decided if I want to write out the numbers or not either. (I.e. 12 or twelve) but I would like to pick a canvas first. My only tattoo right now is on one of my ankles. Is there really anywhere besides my back that this tattoo would fit? (I don't want to get it on my breasts/cleavage/chest-area either.)

ADD: I'm a police officer and to me it means that I'd rather be tried by a jury that killed for worrying too much about not getting in trouble. It takes six people to carry a casket. Twelve people are on a jury.

Can I get a name tattoo covered up with a quote tatoo?

In most cases I’d say no unless you incorporate the quote into another design that would work as a cover up. Ideally (at least to me) you don’t want the new tattoo to look like a coverup. Try writing the name on a piece of paper then writing over it. Chances are it’ll look a bit messy trying to cover letters with letters. Now if you can incorporate the name into the quote then that’s a thought. Jonny Depp’s infamous “Winona” to “Wino” tat comes to mind, or one I saw in person on a dude that came into my shop awhile back. He had his ex’s name “Heather” and had the “r” turned into an “n” to spell “Heathen”. I thought that one was pretty cool, as well as clever. Just some thoughts on it. Go talk to a few artists you like and they should be able to help you brainstorm some ideas. Good luck!

Can guys get rib/side quote tattoos?

Im getting a quote from Walden by Henry David Thoreau, I changed it up a little to more suite my liking it reads "Rather than love, money, faith and fairness...give me truth" . Three lines long and about 6 inches, so pretty small. I dont want any of my tattoo's not to be easily covered up. I was thinking to get it on my right side rib area. Would that be a good spot for this kind of tattoo?

If you don’t have tattoos, what is a song lyric or quote you would want inked on your body if you ever got one?

If you don’t have tattoos, what is a song lyric or quote you would want inked on your body if you ever got one?“Never be content with not knowing something.”That’s what my middle school Performing Arts teacher said to the class one day after a classmate of mine said she was perfectly content with not knowing what some big, long word meant.Ever since he said that, I’ve been using that as something of my life motto, and I try to learn anything and everything I can — especially before formulating some sort of opinion on someone or something.“We all have both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.” ~ Sirius Black“What an idiot.” ~ Hermione Granger“…and, you are?” ~ Hermione Granger“Fear of a name only increases fear of the thing itself.” ~ Hermione Granger“Books! And cleverness! There are more important things — friendship and bravery.” ~ Hermione Granger“Beauty may be dangerous, but intelligence is lethal.” ~ Annabeth Chase“I don’t know, but I just know that I’ll be fighting next to you.” ~ Annabeth Chase“Even strength has to bow down to wisdom sometimes.” ~ Annabeth Chase“I’m more than just a pretty face.” ~ Piper Mclean“Being a hero doesn’t mean you’re invincible, it just means you’re brave enough to stand up and do what’s needed.” ~ Piper Mclean“I’m not choosing one of your paths. I’m making my own.” ~ Hazel Levesque“Exquisitely painful isn’t it? Not being sure who you love and who loves you?” ~ Aphrodite“Beauty is about finding the right fit, the most natural fit. To be perfect, you have to feel perfect about yourself — avoid trying to be something you’re not.” ~ Aphrodite“VENI VIDI AMAVI” OR “VENI VIDI VICI”“Καλλίστη” OR “for the fairest” on a golden apple. ~ Eris“I never look back darling, it distracts from the now.” ~ Edna Mode“NO CAPES!” ~ Edna Mode“Is different okay?” ~ Violet Parr“Different is great!” ~ Tony Rydinger“He looked at me…” ~ Violet Parr“thank u, next” ~ Ariana Grande“I want you to have it all” ~ Jason MrazAmong others, these were just the first few I thought of. ^_^

If you had to get a quote tattooed somewhere on your body, what would it be, where would you put it and why?

I really like tattoos on other people.I think about lightly tracing them with my fingers.I frequently ask strangers to tell me the stories behind their body art.I don't think I would ever get a tattoo. The notion of injecting ink under my skin feels, perhaps somewhat irrationally, like sacrilege.Maybe some day.If I ever did get a tattoo it would almost certainly be a quote. When my Dad was alive he'd often utter "tempus fugit, Dushka. Tempus fugit." (Time goes by fast in Latin.)On the days before his death he would say, almost to himself, that he couldn't believe his life had gone by so quickly. The way he'd make this observation, under his breath and looking gaunt and sick and weak, was etched forever into the pit of my stomach. When I read your question my immediate thought was tempus fugit. It would be a small tattoo on my left mastoid bone and would stand as visible evidence of how his whisper - tempus fugit, Dushka - rings in my ears.
