Should I choose ECE in SSN Chennai, or EEE NIT Trichy?
Honestly, though the difference between the branches may seem great, I believe anything can be learnt if you put your heart to it.Coming to the college, this where the opportunities, facilities and peers come into the picture. You can’t comprehend how much more these matter than the actual studies. The friends you make & the people you meet coming from different walks of life will teach you things that can never be taught.NITT has that advantage. You get to meet people coming from different parts of the country and different backgrounds. And you are bound to stumble upon great opportunities along the way.The student culture in the college is awesome. The fests we organize and host are on par with a professional body handling real world events. The college clubs are similarly well maintained and there’s one for everything you can dream of :PComing back to the courses, EEE is equally good albeit a little tougher sometimes :P. I was passionate about things not so related to EEE when I was studying and those are the things I am doing right now :D.
How is Anna University, Trichy?
The college which has good environment to study, well developed infrastructures and friendly staffs,As the government college students would need to decide what they are future plan, base on it they need to work from when they are joining in the college, No one can specially address whether you are studying or not, the ball is in your court.In hostel maintenance, good but not best, you may enjoy your college life here with freedomInter department match will conduct every year, Everyone can participate on it if they have interest.Placement cell are there, but not sure it is working condition.Hope this will help you for your future plans.
Which should I prefer: civil at Nit Trichy or mechanical at MIT Chennai?
Main thing is your field of interest.Are you interested in civil or Mechanical.Choose based on your interests.Or go for Civil at NIT Trichy.Why?1.Mechanical Engineering is recently started in MIT.They are setting up a new department(Now It’s under Production Department).If you look for placements at the end of four years you have to compete with MIT( Mechanical,Production,Automobile) and CEG (Mechanical,Manufacturing) since they have common placement scenario.2. As I said,Mechanical department is new so you can’t have alumni base to help you in intern opportunities and in-plant training and sometimes you have to travel to Guindy campus for your laboratories.(Already production department students are going to CEG campus for one of their lab)3. MIT is over crowded.The Institute is small but the administration is increasing the seats to the maximum limit.4.NITT is Central government institute,you will get more exposure than in MIT which is a state government college.I suggest you to take Civil at NIT,Trichy or Automobile/Production at MIT.
Is it better to take ECE in CEG or CIVIL in NIT Trichy?
Hi Bharath. Thanks for A2A. Please prioritize your interest first.See what I feel is ECE has somewhat more scope than Civil at the moment. But it doesn’t mean that Civil is a bad branch.Though in context of college, I would say that you are getting admission in the best NIT out of all NITs, so don’t let it go. Still 2 rounds are yet to come why not go with the slide option. Maybe you can get a branch better than Civil.Rest is up to to decide. All the best!!
How is IIIT Trichy (Srirangam)?
I am one of the student in IIIT trichy ,am going anonymous because if anyone knows my name they forcefully make me to delete my answer.Classes: separate Building (KV building- check out in google maps)Faculty : One or two are okay remaining are not as we expectClubs : 404 error ,not foundFests : So far one literature fest(ATRANG) and one sports fest (prothymos) , school programs are far better.Hostel and mess : this is same as NIT students , not sure in futureClass timings: 8:30–5:10 ( some teachers may extend to 5:30 also)Dress code: strictly no Tees allowed(whether you are dying due to heat or not)Fee: just 2,40,000 per year - You dont feel even 10000/- worth paying ( tuition and hostel).Dont expect a scholarship if you are OBC/general.Girls ratio: Fourth year -12 ,third year -5, second year -3(only Ece)& 0 girls in cse ,so sad :(Prerequisites:you should control your emotions when someone (faculty, wardens,not students) neglected you because of your colleges(IIIT Trichy) by NIT members.Self studying capability( expect nothing from teachers)Placements: Faculty words ( “No company is going to come this year, as No.of students are very less”).This answer is based on me and my friends experience, not any false allegations.Disclaimer: Any iiit trichy students, please don’t downvote this answer, our batch is screwed already .
