How do you know if your sweater is falling apart? My grandparents think my distress sweater looks ugly and I should get a new one. My opinion matters the most but they are trying to change my opinion.

What is your opinion on clothes for dogs?

When my dog starts to shiver, I will put her coat on her. She has worn them since she was a puppy because she would sometimes get cold and need them. I live in a climate where the weather can be really hot or freezing; so I make sure she is comfortable in any weather.As for those claiming clothing for dogs is animal abuse; I think you’re wrong. I’m not going to correct anyone, as it is their opinion and they’re entitled to it, but it isn’t always dog abuse.As long as you aren’t dressing a husky in a fleece jacket in 30° c weather, and you aren’t dressing your dogs up for only fashion, I think it’s okay.Most owners are only inclined to put a coat on their dog when they need it. As others have previously mentioned, some dogs have skin conditions, are easily burnt or live in cooler climates where they simply need it.My dog has only a few items of clothing she wears. A loose t shirt, for cold but not freezing weather (ie 15°c or around that), a raincoat in case it starts raining on our walk (I check the forecast to see whether to bring it or not) and a pair of pajamas (basically a jumpsuit) for when it’s cold at night. They don’t restrict her at all and she can still go to the toilet, lay down comfortably, walk comfortably, ect.
