The yellow wallpaper essay help? ?

I was assigned this topic and I have a few ideas of what to put but I need a little bit of help..

“The Yellow Wallpaper” is a story that presents 2 people who are both trapped in their gender roles. The narrator is a wife who is frustrated because she can’t communicate what she really thinks and wants. Her husband, john, is a well known doctor who isn’t quite sure how to help her. Use the story to support this interpretation and give both the narrator and her husband the benefit of the doubt.

If you can help me, that would be great.

This is the story if you dont know it..

How many rolls of wallpaper would it take for the standard size living room?

Even if there were a ‘standard’ sized living room you would still have to measure. No rooms are exactly alike and not all wall papers are the same width and length or have the same pattern. These variables determine how many rolls you need.Measure: Length (of room). Width. Ceiling height. A solid color paper has no repeat. You need less. But unless you are going for texture, (a grass cloth f ex) you might as well paint. A random pattern or stripes are ‘easier’. You don’t need to match those. Once you have decided on a paper calculate how many drops you need. The number of drops in turn determine how many rolls of paper you will buy. Buy an extra roll, you might make a mistake. (A wallpaper drop is one width of wallpaper from ceiling to floor.) Get help. It can be fairly complicated to calculate, (esp. when you start factoring in window and door openings).Patterned drop match papers are harder to calculate and install. Patterns may have to align both vertically and horizontally. (It requires some experience.) A repeat can be anywhere from a few inches to over 2 feet. The larger the repeat the more paper you need. (You will end up with more waste too.)There is a fair amount of cutting; around door and window trim, corners, along ceiling and baseboards, and you have to be precise. Before you tackle the whole living room maybe start with a smaller (less important) space or do a living room accent wall. It can be very effective and liven up pretty much any space. When you find the wallpaper you like you can pick up one of the lighter colors from it and paint the remaining three walls in that color. Softer, fairly light colors do well.

Which is correct, on the wall has three paintings or on the wall have three paintings?

The correct wording is actually the following:There are three paintings on the wall.Although this version is not what would be used in spoken English, this is also technically correct:The wall has three paintings. In English, an object without ability to act, such as a wall opposed to a person, for example, typically does not use a possessive term. The wall does own the paintings as they are placed there, but because a wall is inanimate, it is not fashionable to say it this way. It is better to change the order of your wording and say the paintings are on the wall, using the passive 'to be' tense to describe the objects. Also, only one word is required to indicate the position of the paintings. 'On' indicates the relative place of the paintings to the wall. 'Has' serves the same function because it indicates ownership, that the wall owns the paintings. Just one of these is enough to describe where the paintings are in English. Both are not required.I hope this helps you. If you have any additional questions, just ask in the comments and I will be happy to answer. English uses many subjective or colloquial rules for such a small language. It can be quite confusing, even for those of us who speak it from birth.

How hard is it to remove wallpaper good enough that you can paint the walls?

Removing wallpaper is a cinch, if you know how to do it right. Here is the easiest way to go about it:

1. Use a scoring tool. It looks like a pizza cutter with spikes. You'll find it at any home hardware store at little cost. Run this cutter all over the wall, every which way.
2. Using a spray bottle (an old windex bottle will do just fine), put blue car windshield washer fluid in the bottle. Spray this ALL over the walls you have just scored. Wait 10 minutes.
3.. Spray a second time and wait 3 minutes.
4. Easily peel large pieces or scrape easily off the wall.
5. If there is any glue left on the wall, spray it with the blue windshield washer fluid one more time and scrape it off the wall.

Don't waste your money on steamers or costly liquids they sell at the store. With 19 years experience, I can safely say that blue windshield washer fluid is the best way to remove any wallpaper. You can check my other answers here.... just recently I suggested this method to someone (who had been trying to remove wallpaper with a steamer and scraping.... she tried my method and was blown away because it's sooooo easy... and it works!

You'll easily be able to paint your walls after you remove the paper. Keep in mind that if you don't know what kind of paint is underneath the paper, you'll want to use an oil-based primer on the wall before painting with latex water-based paint. Latex paint WON'T stick on oil-based paint, but it WILL stick to oil-based primer.

Unless your wallpaper is textured with a really nice visual texture, it's not worth painting over. The only time I paint over wallpaper is when it has a cool texture to it. In that case, it looks like a faux finish paint job.

Oh... and although some people here recommend using fabric softener, you won't want to use that. Fabric softener is slimy and hard to remove from the walls after. If you don't believe me, go put your hands in fabric softener and try to remove it easily. You'll have to wash and wash to remove it so your paint sticks properly. And fabric softener is way more expensive than blue windshield washer liquid!

Enjoy your new home!

Paper Mache Recipe?

Recipe for Paper-mache
Materials Needed:

-Newspapers,
-Flour,
-Water,
-Mixing bowl,
-Tempera paint,
-Materials for form: such as balloons, grocery bags filled with crumpled papers.

Directions:
Tear long newspaper strips about one to two inches wide.
Use your form such as the balloon.
Blow up the balloon or put crumbled newspaper in a brown bag and shape the bag.
When you choose your shape, remember you will have to remove your form when the project is complete so cover your form with plastic beforehand (a plastic grocery bag). If you are using a balloon, you can just pop the balloon.
In a mixing bowl, combine water and flour until you have a paste that's thin enough to coat the paper strips.
Experiment first with some small quantities first. If the mixture is too thin, the paper will turn into a soggy mush.
Dip the paper into the paste and use your index finger and middle finger to act like a squeegee to run down the strip of paper.
Place the strip on your form, crisscrossing to make overlapping layers.
When you are done, place in a warm, dry area to dry.
Once the design is completely dry

remove form by cutting a slit in the bottom of the form and pulling out form, or pop the balloon.
Decorate with tempera paint.
