Which Windows Do You Suggest To Me To Install. Windows 8 Or 7 64 Or 32 Bits

How do I install Windows 8.1 64 bit over Windows 7 32 bit?

To install a 64 bit version of Windows you must have an 64 bit CPU.If you are not sure about this, press Windows+Break on your keyboard. In "System Type" you will read "32-bit Operating System". If after this there is "x64-based processor" then your CPU is 64 bit.Now the problem is that you can't install a 64 bit version of Windows over a 32 bit. So the only possible solution is a clean install. But if your CPU is 32 bit you CAN'T install a x64 version of Windows. Try installing the 32 bit version or upgrade your CPU.

How do I install windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit?

Hello, I had windows 7 64-bit installed on my pc but wanted to do a reformat, so I grabbed my CD and refromatted my pc. But it was the 32-bit one, so I thought, I'll just buy the new windows 8 to get my 64-bit again because I was kinda tired of Windows 7. I installed windows 8.1 pro with the installer of the company itself wich didn't let me choose between 64 or 32 bit, so it installed 32-bit on my pc because it already detected it was 32-bit (windows 7 32-bit installed). Is there a way to get 64-bit windows 8.1 pro on my pc now?

Help will be greatly appreciated!

Does installing a 32 bit Windows 8 on a 64 bit PC make it slow?

No, and it will run faster than an Windows x64 bit OS.Sometimes 32-bit applications run faster, sometimes they run slower. There are a lot of competing factors affecting the performance. Generally the difference in either direction isn't very large.I don't see how you can legitimately exclude any factor from performance considerations, because performance always happens in the real world where all factors are in play. Speed is not theoretical and cannot be treated in isolation. Here is an article where the author did some benchmarking:http://www.osnews.com/story/5768He found that the 32-bit binaries were faster in his tests. That was on SPARC in early 2004.Here is a 2010 article from Intel about moving to 64-bit applications:http://software.intel.com/en-us/...According to this article, 64-bit binaries can giver you faster math, so math-heavy code should be faster if correctly optimized. Otherwise, your 64-bit code may well be slower, particular since it takes more memory and this may result in more time spent accessing RAM (more frequent cache misses).

How do I install PHP on my Windows 8 32 bit PC? What supporting softwares should I install?

Download the XAMPP by Apache Friends and install it. It contains all sufficient softwares needed for Web Development (Apache Web Server, MySQL Server, Mercury Mail Server, FTP Server and Tomcat). Also it's easy to use.

Should I install 32 bit or 64 bit version of Windows 7 on a 2GB DDR2 RAM system?

Go for 32 bit.Explanation:The terms 32-bit and 64-bit refer to the way a computer's  processor (also called a CPU),  handles information. The 64-bit version of Windows  handles large  amounts of random access memory (RAM)   more effectively than a 32-bit  system. The benefits of using a 64-bit operating system are most apparent when  you have a large amount of  random access memory (RAM) installed on your  computer, typically 4 GB of RAM or more. In such cases, because a  64-bit operating system can handle large amounts of memory more  efficiently than a 32-bit operating system, a 64-bit system can be more  responsive when running several programs at the same time and switching  between them frequently.

Windows 8 install error help!?

Heyy I'm getting a weird windows 8 install error. I uninstalled all the programs it told me to, but when it checks for compatibility I get the error:

You can’t upgrade 64-bit Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 64-bit version of the installation disc, or go to http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=142337 to see how to install Windows and keep your files and settings.

32-bit Windows cannot be upgraded to a 64-bit version of Windows. To upgrade, obtain a 32-bit version of the Windows installation disc.

I would understand if it only gave me one of those, but it gave both and I'm not sure why. Is there a simple fix?

What will happen if I install a 64 bit OS (Windows/Linux) on a 32 bit computer?

It is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY that you have a 32-bit-only computer. There have been none of them made in at least 10 years. Every recent computer (since 10 years back) is BOTH 32–bit AND 64-bit.If you really genuinely do have a 32-bit-only computer, it is a museum piece and should be donated to your nearest computing museum. The most likely outcome is that when you go to install, the installer switches the machine to 64-bit mode and installs happily, and when you boot up, you discover to your great amazement, that you really do have a 64-bit machine.

I have installed windows 7 ultimate 32 bit, I want to install Windows 8.1-64 bit. How to install? Should I defragment any drive and use it?

You can't upgrade a 32 bit version of Windows to 64 bit version. The only option is to do a clean install, which means your programs or settings will not be upgraded. Please be sure to backup all your data before you proceed. Also make sure you have the installation files and serial numbers of the programs like (MS Office, etc.) saved so you can reinstall them once you install the new OS. The often overlooked folders to backup included the Desktop folder, My Documents, My Pictures, Music etc. Belarc Advisor (System Management For The Internet Age. Software license management, IT asset management, IT security audits and more.) is a good tool that will tell you the serial numbers and other information about your computer, so run it and save the file it generates.Note - defragmenting your drive should not have any effect as far as installing a new. Formatting a drive will delete everything on the drive so please be careful when using it.
