Who Did Teddy Roosevelt Call To Set Up A Conference Call And Send The Army In For The Coal Strike

Help in history!?!?! (World War II and I) Few questions i need answering please...!?

WW1 happened because of the expanding imperialist countries. Major countries like France, Austria-Hungary, and England. They all wanted more land and resources to become even more powerful.

The Nazi party is the National Socialist Party. They believed in a strong government and promised to turn Germany back into a world power.

Communists believe in a form of government called communism. Communism has the idea of equality for all and ownership for all. While this idea sounds great on paper, it will never work because of people's greed.

The French and British created the Treaty of Versailles. It was a harsh treaty that forced the Germans to pay reparations to Great Britain and France.

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Why is Donald Trump the greatest president we've ever had?

I think Trump is going to change history. He is the culmination of 25 yrs of negative propaganda from the right. The right has fostered feat and ignorance and the mob mentality - very similar to when the Roman Empire was starting to fail and distracted the mob with scheduled violence starring those the mob think are less than they are due to nationality or race.America is going to continue to down the spiral of collapse like all empires…our collapse just happened so quickly due to faster communications and a platform for every crackpot in the world on the internet.OR - we could like an alcohol or drug addict who has hit rock bottom….we could pick ourselves up, admit our mistakes, and start a renaissance that could change the world.I can only pray that Trump gets more and more disgusting and does horrible things that brings an end to this insane support of the party of ‘no’ who keeps bankrupting the country every 10 yrs when they get in power.

When did the ideologies of the Democratic and Republican parties flip?

There are a number of important historical reasons for this, which someone else may perhaps compile, but I will argue a simpler explanation. The Democrats have traditionally been identified as the populist party and the Republicans as the elitist party. I use both terms in value-neutral fashions and as ideological descriptors. In the 19th Century, elites believed in government intervention to build the economy while populists believed in a small government that maximized personal liberty. Slavery is a good example. Republicans saw slavery as an impediment to the economic and social development of the nation, while Democrats saw protecting slavery as a matter of personal liberty, or at least a matter of popular sovereignty.Entering the 20th Century, the spread of socialism and reform liberalism popularized the idea of government intervention as a means of promoting liberty and the public good. Teddy Roosevelt described this new idea as “the use of Hamiltonian [elitist] means to achieve Jeffersonian [populist] ends.” Therefore, populists and Democrats began to see government intervention as in their interest, and elitists and Republicans began to see government intervention as hampering economic development and inflaming class tensions.Of course, there are (many, many) exceptions to this rule, but this pattern holds for much of American history. In the past century, both liberal and conservative Republicans have often based their ideas on elitist values/ideas, while both liberal and conservative Democrats have based their ideas on populist values/ideas.I would argue that the most significant shift in American politics has occurred in the 21st Century as the parties have shifted their core organizing values from being populist and elitist to being liberal and conservative.I hope that helps!

Why did the Japanese attack Pearl Harbor when they knew they couldn't take on the United States?

Decades before Pearl Harbor, Japan knew they couldn't take on the full military and industrial might of Russia. Nevertheless, they went into the Russo-Japanese War, and in the aftermath of a decisive victory at the Battle of Tsushima, they were able to negotiate Treaty of Portsmouth with the aide of US president Theodore Roosevelt. This served as a template for much of the subsequent strategic thinking in both the military and in Tokyo.- What victory looks like: Japan and Russia negotiating the Treaty of Portsmouth in 1905When they took on America, what they hoped for was a decisive naval victory similar to that of Battle of Tsushima, followed by peace negotiations (probably facilitated through Stalin in Moscow) that would allow them to remove trade embargoes, and consolidate their gains in both China and South East Asia.- Probably the most optimistic estimate for Japanese war planners.Their plan B was probably some kind of war of attrition, where they compensate their lack of industry and technology with bushido and determination, and inflict a kind of casualty to the US military that would be unacceptable to the US population back home. The Battle of Iwo Jima was supposed to show an example of what's to come if the US wanted to prolong the war.- Plan B for Japanese war plannersWhat happened was that they never got the decisive victory that they hoped for, and the US successfully turned its industry for war. They have also not anticipated the effects of strategic bombing, in particular night-time firebombing, which completely ruined Japan with minimal US casualties. Lastly, they did not anticipate the USSR breaking the Soviet–Japanese Neutrality Pact, and quickly overran the Kwantung Army in a matter of weeks in the Soviet–Japanese War.- Not part of the plan. All the events evolved to the point that the unconditional surrender to the US became the best possible option by mid 1945.
