What is Paranormal Activity (The Movies)?
Paranormal Activity is part of the 'found footage' genre films. It appears to be real footage but it's staged just like any other movie. In the first film, a couple moves into a home and documents the supernatural activity with the camera. Paranormal Activity 2 involves a set of characters who are related to the ones in the first film, and the events of both movies take place at roughly the same time. Paranormal Activity 3 is a preqel that takes place in the '80s when one of the characters was a little girl. I haven't seen Paranormal Activity 4 but I'm under the impression it involves a whole new set of characters. There's also a film called Paranormal Entity which is basically a rip-off of these films, but it's pretty decent.

can someone please tell me what happens in the third paranormal activity? Will my cell phone recorder pick up paranormal voices or do I need an EVP Recorder?
Yes, you can use your cell phone but I suggest you at least get a cassette tape recorder. A good digital recorder works well also. the only reason I would not use a cell phone is you may get a call during a critical time. You also want to keep your phone with you and many times investigators will leave a recorder in one place while doing other things in another room or area. If you happen to loose the recorder you have just lost a recorder but if you loose your cell phone someone could find it and run up a huge phone bill. Scary found footage movies?
I love love love found footage horror movies, but cant seem to find any new ones that are good. Are the archived footage tapes in The Fourth Kind real?
I saw it, liked it, and did my research only to find out that they made up everything. Yes, there were a number of disappearances in the town where it "happened", but they were linked to alcohol use and the real footage was also made up. They actually got sued over making it up. No records of the doctor, who the movie is all about, Dr. Abigail Tyler, have ever been found in the town of Nome, Alaska where these "real events" take place. Finding out it was all made up was kinda disappointed me, I still liked it though.
