But back in Gallipolli (1981)and Mad Max(1979) and Road Warrior(1982)Mel Gibson was once so, so so very dreamy. I had to skip adding his photos from The Bounty because I had to keep them nearby, just for me. Nope, won't share.My first movie star crush: on James Mason as Captain Nemo in 20,000 Leagues under the Sea(1954). This was one of the first movies I ever saw in a theater (dollar or less Sat matinee), and I was very young. I think it might've been the first real movie I ever saw, even though it was already 15-20 years old. And I had a HUGE crush on the bad guy. With a voice like crushed velvet. I'm melting...James Mason (with smoking jacket and beard) with Kirk Douglas, Peter Lorre, and Paul Lukas in 20,000 Leagues. (Clark Gable was my other "first" movie star crush...from GWTW.).Can't leave out Rudolf Valentino, the original Latin Lover. "Despondent fans" literally committed suicide at his funeral (attended by over 100,000) in 1926. Reminds me a little of Johnny Depp. And of course, there's Errol Flynn, (he reminds me of Armie Hammer) with pants (I think):and without:Since we're swashbuckling and talking Arabian nights, Douglas Fairbanks, Sr.:and Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. (very James Franco, I think)EDIT: Can't believe I almost forgot Tyrone Power, who died at only 44, in 1958.
