Why Am I Getting Access Denied When Using Cmd To Remove Shortcut Viruses

Why am i getting access denied when using cmd to remove shortcut viruses?

access denied means the syntax you entered is wrong.
you should check the syntax you entered and see if it the same then probably the command you have is not the correct cmd command.
common mistakes maybe that you did not change directory t the usb drive location
eg cd G:/ then enter where G is the letter for usb location
or you did not run cmd as administrator
in windows 7,8 type cmd in search box
right click and select run as administrator

Which is the best antivirus to remove shortcut virus?

It is important to observe the virus very closely. I take the case of pendrive to explain the issue.Let's assume that you want to copy a document from a public PC. When you plug that pendrive in your PC, you are amazed, shocked and disheartened (may be!) To see that all your files are gone and there is a peculiar shortcut in the drive.Actually, the files went hidden. Now either the public PC or your PC could be infected. In search of the files if you oppen the shortcut then congratulations! Your PC is now infected. Everytime you now insert a flashdrive, all the files will hide themselves and create a simple shortcut so that the shortcut can be used to infect other systems.Never open the shortcut if you want your little kitten healthy. Instead there is a CMD command to retrieve all the files back all in one go.To remove the virus from pendrive, safeguard your files first and then a run a full scan of the pendrive. If the shortcut gets deleted then the drive is clean. If it doesn't, the drive needs to be formatted. To remove the malware from a PC, first of all run a full system scan. Chances are, virus won't be caught. Next step is open up the CMD as admin and type “sfc /scannow".Wait for the process to complete. This process will ensure that damaged windows files are restored back.

A shortcut always gets created whenever I insert any pendrive or hard disk in my Windows 7 laptop. The pen drive opens in my laptop but in other devices it shows that it is infected. How can I remove the virus?

** To gain temporary access to your pen drive files**Open Start Menu/Start Screen, search for 'Command Prompt'. When it comes up, right click the icon and click on 'Run as Administrator'.You should get a black screen with a white prompt and blinking dash.Let's say your pendrive letter is G:\.There type in "G:" (without quotes) and press Enter. Now type in the following and press Enter"attrib * -h -s /d /s" (again without quotes)Now you might have to wait for a while until the blinking dash reappears. Then type this and press enter:"del *.lnk"Now open your pen drive in Windows Explorer. You should see a folder with no name. Open it and you should get the contents of your pen drive there. Move all the contents to the main folder (root) of the pen drive. Now if you had double clicked any of the shortcuts in the past your computer is surely infected and every time you reinsert the pen drive, the shortcuts will reappear. To disinfect your computer you have to perform the following steps.** To remove the virus completely**Install this software: Dr. Web Cureit (http://www.freedrweb.com/cureit/...)Open it and run a full scan (not an express scan). After some time you will get the results and it will ask you what to do with them. Click on Fix/Remove or any similar option that comes up.Then finally restart your computer. Now after starting up again you will see that reinserting the pen drive doesn't make the shortcuts reappear.Congrats! You just manually removed the shortcut virus!Source: Sumit DT's answer to My PenDrive has been making shortcuts in itself and I've lost my data because of it. How do I go about removing this virus?
