Why Am I Having So Many Nightmares

Why am I having so many nightmares?

It's not just one or two dreams, it's every time I close my eyes. I lay awake for hours because every time I come close to slipping into the unconscious world a terrible something or someone is stopping me. Sometimes I realize I'm in a nightmare, but things like children drowning is not something I can ignore whether it's real or not. Other times I'm getting hurt in my sub conscience land, and finding those same places in reality are painful but without marks - like phantom pain. There are evil monsters, regular robbers, creepers, natural disasters, abandonment, etc; Every time I close my eyes I'm attempting to run, help, scream, or fight. In some dreams I know the people and in others I don't, The only constant here seems to be that the dream is "bad". It's been going on for a week, and I've even tried sleeping at different times and such.

Suggestions? PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

Thanks.

Why am I having so many nightmares?

All I can recommend you , from a person who knows what anxiety , depression is to just accept these dreams. Never look for their meaning or why are you having them. I used to have a lot of nightmares and I still have. You know what ? I enjoy dreaming! Bad or not , when you wake up it’s just a dream, and I am always amazed what my brain can produce. So have no fear of your dreams, just accept that it was a dream and nothing more. One thing that could make you anxious is the fact that now everytime you go to sleep your subconscious fears that you will have nightmares. You could try to meditate and put your mind to ease , or pinpoint the factors in your real life that actually stress you out and lead to these dreams. If there isn’t anything that is actually really stressing/bothering you , then my friend I see no point to stress over these nightmares. The key to release anxiety is acceptance, sooner or later , you will realize that and you will see how much time you waste worrying over some things that do not really matter in the end. Stay STRONG, ACCEPT, DO NOT OVERTHINK and stay positive no matter how hard it is. Good things do not last ,but neither bad things do. As someone said.. A smooth sea, never made a skillful sailor. All the best!

Why am I having so many nightmares lately ?

Have you been through any traumatic experiences lately? As one who struggles with nightmares, it can be very rough. I have PTSD from iraq and its tough. But sometimes these experiences just trigger some bad dreams. There's one thing a doctor told me to do and it works for me. She said that instead of going right to sleep just lay there in bed for aboout 20 mins and think of one specific thing that makes you happy or a great memory. Just lay there and think about this for a while and for some reason you'll find yourself having less nightmares and you'll even start having dreams of the good thought you thought about. Sounds stupid but it works. Try It out. I wish I could know if it works. Good luck with them :(

Why am I having spider nightmares?

I am EXTREMELY scared of spiders. It frightens me to even talk about them. I'm having so many nightmares about them that I can't sleep. There are so realistic too. I wake up feeling even worse then when I went to sleep. Before I could just wake up from them but not I can't, I just keep having the nightmare. What do I do? I'm a young mother and these dreams have literally scarred me to the point that I don't want to be around people, or go outside. I feel like spiders are all around me. I NEED these to stop. what do I do?

Why do I have so many nightmares..?

You are going to think I'm a wacko but I have nightmares to, not about what you do just dreams of a disturbing nature night after night. I never believed in psychics but I went to a free aura healing fair that was put on by the Berkley Psychic Institute and when they veiwed my aura they said there was 'dark matter' all around me. I don't know what they did but they made a hot ball of something in my solar plexis and then pulled it out through my neck. It sounds crazy I know, but whatever it was, I didn't have a bad dream for about 2 1/2 months. I have them again now and need to go back and have it done again. I think maybe you have dark matter on you.

Why am I having nightmares suddenly?

Dr. Phil has a website, which explains nightmares. My take is a little different. In my experience, fear in the waking world is the source of all nightmares. Fear is evolution's way of say; "Don't forget this! It may save your life in the future". Simple fear is easy to deal with: Just make a second copy of the incident responsible. You can tell it to your pet, or a plant. It doesn't matter. Some people call this, "acknowledging your fear". Explain what made you afraid, and why. Adrenaline fear is much harder: You have to keep remembering, until the memory stops producing adrenaline. Remember as much detail as you can stand. Avoiding the worst bits will do you little good. I had nightmares for 40 years, but I've been nightmare free for the last 5 yrs. My last nightmare was caused by my avoiding someone. The fear was shame and humiliation. That night, I was eaten alive by zombies. Hope this helps.
