Why Am I Having Weird Muscle Cramps

Weird hand cramps?

Do three things:
What did you use thqat hand for recently. That may give you clues.

1. Maybe a muscle spasm. Massage it and try and find a muscle knot. > If you do, put pressure on the knot and hold it until the knot "releases".

2. You may not have enough potassium: > eat a banana.

3. You may have hurt a tendon, bruised, or broken something. Apply heat, or ice: whichever feels better. If it doesnt feel better tomorrow: go > Dr.

That has happened to me before (eg after using that hand for woodwork, or something where its used a lot for impact or tight squeezing), and it was simply a muscle knot, or muscle damage. And it went away much like muscle soreness after a new exercise.

good luck!

Why does a muscle under my chin cramp painfully when I yawn?

Thank God, I'm not the only person having it. It's super painful and will leave you teary! Here's one of the answer I found on internet quite a while ago.The pain results from irregular contraction (spasm) of the genioglossus and geniohyoid muscles. The mechanism is exactly the same as any cramp in any other muscle in the body. When we yawn, we have a tendency to contract and elevate the tongue. This causes contraction of its muscles, which can trigger the spasm and pain. One trick that you can try is to consciously relax your tongue when yawning, letting it just sit flat on the floor of the mouth. This typically prevents the spasm, and after a while, it becomes a habit and the condition disappears.Personally I've experienced quite a few times. It doesn't happen always but once a blue moon I still get it. Solution which worked for me is to gently massage my under jaw muscle and try to slowly move my mouth and eventually it goes away.Edit 1: I’ve not been having it lately and thought I would share it with you guys. The reason which I think I’m not having it anymore is “caution”. Whenever I yawn, I try to go easy and do not open my mouth in one quick movement. As suggested earlier, I try to keep my tongue flat too. Moreover, I’ve been gently massaging my under jaw/chin muscles with lotion and oil which has relaxed those muscles. Hence I’m not getting it anymore. Try doing it if it still happens to you. Cheers

Why do my muscles twitch during an MRI?

Two possible reasons:

1) Stress, nerves during the testing: Muscle twitching, medically is referred to as fasciculations.. yours would be the benign variety. So you get stressed/nervous during holding still for an inordinate amount of time, you twitch. The flexeril will relax the muscles. (I'd recommend clonazepam myself)

2) PNS - Peripheral Nerve Stimulation -- Basically the rapid on and off switching of the magnetic field can cause nerve stimulation,.. muscles are activated by nerves -- thus , to over simplify, the MRI causes muscle stimulation, aka: Twitching, or fasciculations. I suppose technically that would be PNS benign fasciculations. :)

If you care to look at the PNS theory with more fascination, look at the reference column.

I wouldn't worry about it, but you might be armed with some information to make them scratch their heads should they think you are making it up or nuts =)

All the best..

Having muscle tremors in the abdomen region, upper legs and buttocks. What could this be caused by?

When im in bed i feel like there is a flickering of small muscles in my lower abdomen. Also odd muscle spasms in small muscles in my butt. I am also having slight abdominal pain in my lower right abdomen region.

Muscle Spasm from Sneezing?

I sneezed pretty good earlier and immediately felt a sharp abdominal pain, like a pulled muscle or something.

The location is not in the ribs, however. It is closer to the groin region, on my left side, just left of my abdomen.

I think I was sort of standing in a weird, twisted way when I sneezed.

The pain is basically gone, but it still feels very sore throughout my abdomen in weird places, internally. It almost feels like bad gas pressure, if I were to compare it to anything.

Any idea that this could be? There is no swelling at all in the area, so I'm thinking that it probably wasn't a hernia.

Please help! Not gonna lie, I'm a little worried here. thank you.
