Why Am I Not Getting Hired

Why am I not getting hired?

13–14 interviews means that you probably have the skills and qualify at least to get a phone screening interview. It also means that you resume is at least okay. Here is a general break down for you:Getting and phone screening: I want to know if you are and do what you say on your resume.Getting an on-site interview: I think this candidate looks good on paper, let’s bring him in to see if he actually is good and whether I would want to work with him or not.Selection process: How does this person compare to other applicants that applied and interviewed? Do I like him aka. is he in the top 3 finalists?Finalist process: Let’s clarify unknowns, gauge interest, and set expectations (salary etc.) and disqualify the ones that don’t match what we are looking for.Hiring process: Issue offer first to top 1 and hope they accept. If not issue to top 2, etc.If you are getting stuck in the phone screening or recruiter interview stage and don’t even get to talk to hiring managers, that means you don’t meet the minimum criteria for the job. Could be qualifications, could be culture fit, could be anything. If you are getting in-person interviews that means you look good on paper, but they don’t like something could be lack of confidence in your ability to do the job, could be many things. I don’t know exactly without more information. From what you are saying it really sounds like to me that they just don’t like your answers. Hey if you don’t like them, they won’t like them. It could also mean that there are better candidates who applied for the job and they liked them more. Better is very subjective in hiring. How you present yourself and whether or not you impress the hiring manager in the right way matters. My advice is don’t give up. With every interview improve something, you don’t have to lie to get a job. You can improve your confidence by improving and elaborating on what you have done and how that translates into the new role. Each interview write down something you did good on and something you did not so well on.

Am I not getting hired because I'm ugly?

Hey~
I've been a research assistant in Social Psych. departments and have done extensive lit. reviews of the subject of hiring and attractiveness. Unfortunately, my friend, the sad truth is that there is a "The beautiful is the Good" perception--and so yes, more attractive people are more likely to get jobs, all other factors remaining equal. Unless you are a female applying for a male-sex typed occupation like a corporate executive. In that case, being an attractive female works to your disadvantage, as pretty women are seen as less competent in these fields.

Am I not getting hired because of my name?

Ok, i am a 17 year old female and i'm a senior in high school. I have been sending out job applications from June to late July, then September to now. And yes i am still currently sending out job applications. My question can my name be hindering my job-seeking process?

I have a ghetto name (and yes i'm black). it's pronounced Qwon-ee-sha. I have a little experience but not much. But again i'm only 17 yrs old. Anyhow, I've noticed that people i know who are YOUNGER than me and with LESS experience are getting hired (or at least called back for an interview) instead of me.

I am not a ghetto person, i'm actually very quiet. But i do make an effort to get a job! I've did phone follow ups and even in person follow ups. Nothing. And i don't think it's the economy, at least where i live, because 75% of the people in my grade now have jobs within 30 miles of our town.

And yes i do apply when they're hiring or sometimes when they are "collecting" applications. I also remember calling this one place to follow up and one of the manager's asked for my name so he could pass it on to the hiring manager. When i told him, i could tell he hesitated and then he asked me to repeat my name. I did, and i could tell he didn't even write it down. Like he was just like "whatever i don't feel like asking her to spell it so i'm not even gonna pass it on".

So is it my name? Cause so many people in my school are getting hired for jobs i applied to and i don't even get a call back! And yes these are entry level grocery store/fast food place jobs.

Why am I not getting hired on Upwork? I make sure I send an interesting proposal to the clients and attach samples.

I have gone through the same thing. I will suggest you following things:First and most important thing is give those skill tests to prove your skill. They don't take more than hour. If I was a client, I would definitely hire someone who has proved his skill. You are competing at the global level and so just keep applying to projects. Do not give up.@Danny Margulies has written some very nice answers about this topic. I suggest you to go through his answers. I personally found them very motivating.

Hollister schedule: Why am I not getting any shifts?

I just got hired at Hollister 2 weeks ago.
I've already had my orientation and picture. They said that they'll teach me stuff on my first shift.
So my first schedule for the week, I had 1 call in shift but they didn't need me.
And my next schedule, I didn't get any shifts at all..
Why would they even hire me when they have no shifts to give?
I already quit my other job to work here, which was obviously a big mistake since I'm not getting any hours
I set my availability to available everyday, afterschool to closing and all day on weekends.
I know I'm new so they don't know if I'm a hard worker or not but I feel like theyre not even giving me a chance.

Chances of getting hired at McDonalds?

Your chances are excellent for getting hired at McDonald's. This does not depend on age , it's a simple fact that Mc Donald's hires more and has more locations than ANY other fast food chain or franchise world wide. You will be hired unless there is something on your application that poses a threat for employment.

How far am I close to getting hired if I am interviewing with the VP of the company?

"Closer than you were before" is probably about as good an answer as you can get without knowing what this specific company's interview process is. It sounds like you're making good progress, and you're still in the interview process, so that's a good sign. If a VP is taking the time to talk to you, that's a good sign. While the interview process is generally similar from company to company, each company has its own process. So that makes it difficult to know how far along this company's process the VP interview is. You could be almost finished, or you could have several more interviews coming up.How you might be able to find out what this company's interview process looks likeIf you already know someone working that the company, you could ask them what their interview process generally look like. That is probably the best way to find a reliable answer to your question. If you have been working with a recruiter or someone in HR is guiding you through the process, you could ask them, "What does the overall interview process look like? What comes next after I talk to the VP?" For now, you're still in the candidate pipeline and that's a good sign—good luck!I've written extensively about how to excel at interviews in my book Fearless Salary Negotiation.
