Why Am I Slurring My Words Lately

Help! I always slur, stutter, and stumble over my words!?

when I was a kid, they used to take kids with impediments out to a speech trailer, I don't know what they talked about because I never had to go. But I would say SLOW DOWN !!! i have done this in my life, like right now, i am so excited to tell you what I want to say , that the words are trying to get out of my head faster than I can type. so , WHat we need is practice. I used to use the Lords name in Vain, and I wanted to stop, so I took a look at my things, and Payed attention to what I was saying and everytime I was , or normaly said G.D. J.F.C. i made sure I stopped , and I looked at what the words say, what was I say, and what did it mean ? Did I like saying that stuff? No, so slowly I stopped , and now I deffinately don't do what I used to do. So I know the same can be said for you !

I feel disoriented whats wrong?

i am feeling very weird the last few days. i feel very disoriented. i feel tired all the time. i am sleeping enough. i just seem to sit around and stare off a lot. my friends say i am slurring my words. after i think about comments i make, they seem sort of random and dont make much sense. am i getting sick or something perhaps?

Please help. I recently started slurring and stuttering my words!?

I have noticed that in the last couple of weeks i have started stuttering, slurring my words, or i forget what i was about to say, and i it sounds as if i was drunk and not in control of my tongue. And my tongue and mouth just feel heavy at time.for example i wanted to say " Yeah , Right " but it came out like "Ssslleah, white." Of course i go back and correct myself, it is getting annoying. Also its concerning me and it has become more noticeable lately.
I have also been super stressed and depressed (but more the anger type) for some life reasons. I have gotten pressure head aches recently. But i just had a check up with my Doc and i am just fine, nothing abnormal. What can i do! or what could this be caused by? P.S. I am 19 years old.
Thank you

Why do people keep using 'an' wrong?

I have been seeing it a lot lately, people say, "they should make an movie out of that", etc.
When I was a kid, my teachers taught me that 'an' should only be used before a vowel or a vowel sounding letter. ex. an egg, an hour.

While we are on the subject, I notice a lot of people use 'a' wrong in the same way. ex. a egg, a hour.

Is the education system in this country getting worse or am I just unaware that they officially changed the acceptable use of the word?

Because even if it is used differently now, it sounds unnatural to say, a apple or an movie.

Any thoughts?

Slurred speech, confusion?

Good question indeed.

If you are not having proper physical fitness and mental health, anything like this slurred speech or confusion may be possible. I don't deny what you say here. Because I am a staunch believer. I totally believe whatever you say here. When you are seriously considering the ways and means to solve your critical problem like this, in such critical situations and crucial circumstances, you should not simultaneously like to deactivate your mind (or brain power). Then it may lead to doubts, confusions, suspicion or fear.

In any case, there is no harm in consulting a professionally qualified doctor. Take proper and regular treatment. You will come back to your original or natural health soon.

My dad is acting really weird...?

my dad is acting really weird. he was cooking the food and he was all swaying back and forth and he said he couldn't see anything. like, everything was blurry and he was slurring all of his words. and he was talking crazy. basically, he was acting like he was drunk or high. but he wasn't drinking enough to get like that, and he doesn't smoke, and he said its been like this for three days now, just getting worse. he's really bad off right now, but he won't go to the hospital and i told my mom that if he didn't, and died tonight, there would be no reason for life insurance or anything, which is the whole reason why he won't go. he's really bad off, and i dont know what this is. do you have any ideas with what's wrong with him?

I am 17 years old and I just started stuttering. What could be the cause?

I have no idea the cause of your stuttering; nor do I think it would help to know. Working on a remedy might be a better option.Have stuttered all my life….and I mean SEVERE stutter. Was so severe and for so long that I surrendered that it was going to be a cross I would carry through life. It wasn’t until at the age of 29, when I went to an exceptional speech pathologist, did I find hope.He told me that I don’t really stutter. I clutter, which means I speak VERY fast. During the first session, I was told that it cannot be cured, but it can be controlled. That gave me hope! He gave to me the six rules for good speech. Which are:1) Think - about what you say before you say it.2) Breath - talk as you exhale rather than inhale.3) Move your mouth - that will prevent slurring4) Make all sounds - and be sure to emphasize the last sound of each word. ***5) Use enough voice ***6) Talk slow - in order for your speech to sound normal to the listener, it must sound abnormal to you. NOTE: Don’t worry about it seeming too slow for you…your listening will wait you out!Too, I learned years ago from Dr. Don Kirkley, who taught public speaking at the Pentagon, the key to effective speaking is hesitation. Pause. No more than six (6) words at a time without a pause. Even less…than six… will work…nicely.Oh, and a note - it’s not easy. It takes work. You CAN do it. I went to the speech therapist one hour per week for 52 weeks. My last session, he asked me to read a story about George the Rat, and if I may say, I did an excellent job. He then said, Now, I want you to listen to this. He played a recording of a kid trying to read the same story. It was obvious to me that the young man had physical problems. I could not understand what he was saying. At the end I said, My gosh! Who was that?! The therapist’s next words I will remember until the day I die. He said, That was you during your first day of therapy. My fear of public speaking was for many years more than most could possibly comprehend. Now, it’s a rush. Promise! To make a long story short, by using the rules given to me, I’ve presented workshops/seminars throughout the United States.Good luck to you and BE PATIENT. This will take work, but you can do it!There is more that I could share than this space will allow.
