Why Am I So Bad At Running

Why am I bad at running?

First things first: You’re not bad at running. No one is bad at running. Now, SLOW DOWN. That was the hardest thing for me to do when I started running. When you’re a kid and go out to play, you go out the door and run like hell. When you want to become a distance runner, you slow yourself down.Once I understood that, I slowed myself down to about a 12-minute mile, and I found it much easier to keep running. Once you are able to run steadily for more than 30 minutes, you will find the speed begins to come naturally.Everyone is different, but for me, after I’d been running about 3 months, I entered my first race, a 10K, and just wanted to finish. I wound up running around 8 1/2 minute/mile pace. Within 3 months after that, I was sub-7 for 10K. After that, the improvements came in smaller increments.

Why do my legs hurt so bad while running?

A few reasons:You are running too much too fast way too soon. You need to slowly ease into running after not running for one year. Make sure you are not running on concrete but on a well patted track or road. Always warm up your legs properly for at least 5 min by doing mobility dynamic stretches. You can try this 5 min complete mobility warmup for your legs before you run: 4. Make sure that you are wearing proper foot wears.5. Make sure you foam roll your legs after you run and also spend at least 4 to 5 min to perform static stretch cool down to properly recover your legs muscles. Hopefully this helps :-)

Why am I so bad at running?

I'm a 13 year old boy, and I'm tall and very thin. I usually don't run much, but my friends and I decided to do cross country running which starts in 3 weeks. I started running to train today, and I must say I was terrible. It took me about 10:30 to run a mile, which is odd, considering I am pretty active, but don't run distance much. Does anyone have any tips on how I can get a better time? I am embarrassed by my time.

Why do my ankles hurt so bad after running?

I would tell your mother so maybe she can take you to get it checked out. Also do you take a multi-vitamin of some sort? You should be taking a multi-vitamin regularly and since u play sports you should be taking a joint health specially for like soccer thats a lot of wear on your ankles. Here's something that are very good for joints that you can try for your ankles I used it when I hurt my knee and it helped a lot. http://ichism.qhealthbeauty.com/products/product.aspx?itemno=107125

It's all natural and fda approved, ask your mom if you can try it for 7days to see if it helps.

Hope you feel better... Also did you check your shoes? Try putting shoe cushions in there.

Why am I bad at running and walking stairs but much better at swimming?

Considering you haven’t provided much information on your physique it could be for a multitude of reasons. Body type is important in guiding you success in each sport. Swimmers tend to be taller with a longer torso and shorter legs and runners thend to have a heavier center of mass at their bellybuttons and slightly shorter statured bodies. You probably have noticed that many African Americans are extremely successful runners and not swimmers. While genetics and physiology is not the only reason, African Americans tend to have a heavier center of mass at their bellybutton which proves adventageous in running and not swimming. It could also be your technique or you mind telling you you are bad at one and good at the other, just practice and you can become proficient at whatever sport you desire.Oh I didnt read your whole description, train your aerobic fitness. Maybe your swimming technique is slightly better or you just dont like running as much so you get tired faster (you make yourself think that). Could be that your legs are not trained that well but your upper body is, and you let your legs drown behind you while you swim.

Why am i so bad at short distance running?

There are two type of muscle fibers fast twitch muscle fibers and slow twitch muscle fibers obviously the fast twitch muscle fibers are for sprinting, and the slow twitch are for longer distances, so naturally as a long distance runner your composed of mainly slow twitch muscle fibers, its not that you don't have the fast twitch muscle fibers there just lesser and you could become a good short distance runner(sprinter) if you trained those fast twitch muscle fibers.

Hope this helped.

I Bruised My Toe Nail While Running, Hurts So Bad,?

hey. any one out there, have experience with getting one of your toe nails bruised. I am in so much pain. I guess my toe nail was a little too long and i was running in it for a few days, and now my big toe nail is just massively aching, sensitive to the touch. It hurts to wear my tennis shoes, i want to run later, but i don't think that's going to happen with how much pain my toe is in. has this happened to any one else, how long was it painful for. is it just bruised, or could there be an infection starting, do you think it will fall off now. any advice would be great. thanks.
