Why Am I Tanning So Quickly

Why do I loose my tan so quickly?

You forgot to moisturise daily. This the number one reason why your sunless tan may have faded faster than you had hoped. When your skin becomes too dry the skin cells on the surface begin to flake off, taking your golden colour away with them. Hydrating the skin with a rich moisturiser will slow down the skin’s natural regeneration process and help your tan last longer.

Why do my arms tan so much quicker than my face?

people typically try to hide their eyes from the sun causing your face to not get as much direct exposure to the sun. You don't think about your arms, so as they rest and sway, they're typically directly in the sunlight.

Why do I tan so easily? How can I stop tanning so easily?

I am half Asian and half Italian .I tan so easily and quickly.I am the darkest out of both sides of my family. That my family from my maternal asian side always tease and make jokes about me.But It isn't even funny-_-....I don't think I go out in the sun a lot....just usually only at school like when I arrive there ,recess, lunch and when it ends..I wait for my bus to come. But I didn't always used to be this dark I was the same skin color as my family when I was a child.

How do I tan quickly in Florida?

How you tan has to do with your skin, not where you are getting sun.The sun is more intense than Florida so less exposure will burn you than you’re used to.If you are naturally darker and tan easily you might find that 20 minutes of Florida sun will be enough to darken you up and impress your friends up north when you come home from vacation. On the other hand, if you’re fair skinned the bad news is there’s no shortcut to getting dark.I’m fair skinned (Irish ancestry) and have lived in Florida over 25 years. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to darken up and what I find is that about 15–20 minutes of exposure daily with no sunblock or accelerant is about all you can do. It takes time for the pigment in your skin to build up, and if you think you can speed things up, you’re wrong. More exposure time will result in a sunburn, no good. That can set you back in your quest to tan, and additionally is going to be a big future money maker for your dermatologist - or oncologist. For myself I spent 20–30 minutes in the sun daily for about two months and was able to get to the dark golden tan I wanted without burning, but I couldn’t have done it any faster i’m sure. These days I use an SPF50 uv spray and stay out on the boat over 2 hours. I will get plenty of sun without burning at that point. I have pushed it to 3–4 hours without reappyling and got burned, so I usually reapply after a couple hours. I wear a hat and lightweight clothing, sometimes with and sometimes without a shirt. But if you’re thinking you’re going to go from white to brown in the timespan of a normal vacation - not gonna happen unless you are naturally darker skinned.

How can I stop losing my tan so easily?

A few days ago was really sunny outside so naturally I went tanning. It was such a nice day that by the end I had this gorgeous, adriana lima caramel tan. No burn at all

And today, it's half way gone. I'm still far from my natural color (I'm really pale but I can tan) but it's still far from what I want.

So how can I prevent from losing my tan so fast?

Why do I tan so easily?

Darker skin with more pigment (melanin) will tan more easily and quickly than lighter skin, which has much less protective melanin, and tends to sunburn. Both suntan and sunburn are signs of sun-induced skin damage. Immediate tanning is your skin's first response to insult from the sun. The melanin (brown pigment)-containing melanosomes spread out across the sun-exposed skin in an attempt to cover and 'protect' the skin from further damage. The more melanin you have, the more 'natural' skin protection that you have. However, there is limited natural protection that any color skin has. Everyone should limit sun unprotected UV exposure and wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen. Any suntan means that your skin recognizes that it has been exposed to too much UV, and is responding. Essentially, your skin is 'toasting' before it burns. This immediate tan fades within a day, if you get out of the sun at this point. Further UV exposure to unprotected skin can cause the epidermis to burn and become red, painful and even blistered and peeling. While this burn will subside within a few days, the body over-produces whatever melanin in can, in response to the inflammation (burn); this is what happens when your burn 'turns into a tan.' However, as 'healthy' as this new tan looks, it means that your skin has been damaged. UV rays cause oxidative damage to the DNA, which can lead to skin cancer and melanoma, and will breakdown the structural dermal collagen, which results in skin aging (wrinkles, dark spots, skin thinning and scar-like, leathery thickening).

Why does my face tan so easily?

despite my ultra bright, ultra white profile picture, lately, ive been getting pretty dark. But my face is way ahead of the game. Why does it tan so easily? if i put an even amount of a gradual tanner all over my body, it will look way darker on my face. Same thing with being outside for 8 hours. Face gets color faster.

Every way there is to get tan, my face goes way darker.

Why is this?

Why don't I tan? Why is my skin like this?

You must be either, not staying in the sun long enough, or you are using to high of an SPF sunscreen. You also do have to take in, that you're not going to get tan right away, and you have to constantly be out in the sun to gain a tan. I would recommend 15 - 30 SPF, as long as you reapply it often and be sure to check if you're not burning. If not becoming tan is very much a problem i would invest in a spray tan or a UV bed at a professional tanning studio.
